The Afton family reunion | The Middle World

Chapter 2

Here is the second chapter and this one is going to be a video! This would be the first video of the series and is going to work as a preview, before the actual episode one! Now I'll stop keeping you waiting, and just enjoy your reading!

Five minutes after the six missing children entered the Middle World...

I do not remember a lot about the fire that set my soul free, I only remember seeing flames surrounding me and then darkness took over my vision. Now I am in a white room, with one single visible door. A wooden door that has a strange tree on it; it has a pale brown colour that is quite simple and beautiful, somehow I cannot place what kind of wood was used to make it. However, that is quite normal since I've never been good with learning about vegetation, father thought is was useless too. 

I also felt a lot of pain on the back of my head, as if someone had knock me out. I am actually unsure if I am actually dead or if a got kidnapped...again. Either way, I have a feeling that whoever has capture me has also changed my clothes (my last clothes would probably be burn).

I get on my feet to see if a can try going through that door, but then the same door opens to reveal a teenage girl. The girl has brown long hair almost black, that it's all put in a ponytail. She is also wearing a pink hoodie with a white heart in the middle. Before, I could see what was behind the door, she close it. She is holding a notebook and a pencil in her other hand.

"Who are you?" I ask her to know, if she can be trusted. "My name is Maya, what's your name?" she says with a cheerful tone. I respond suspiciously "Michael." She starts writing in her notebook and then she asks "Michael Afton or Michael Emily?" I was shocked after she said that, how does she know my two identities? Who is she, really? "How do you know those names?" "Well, I have two Michaels in my list; one of them is going to go directly to the Afton household. However, the other one is going to go directly toward the Emily household. So the question is; what will you choose?" This got me thinking, what does she mean by going to the Aftons? Are they really all here? Wait does that mean that Chris is here?! "Is Chris here?!" I ask voicing my thoughts. "Of course he is, he was one of the first to show up." She responds.

I felt a lot of guilt wash over me as I remember the events of that horrible day. "Well, I don't think I am ready to see any of them" I finish by saying. "Then tell me Michael, who are you?" she asks. "I-I am Michael Emily" I respond unsure.

"Then Welcome to the Middle World Michael Emily" she welcomes me while opening her arms symbolizing her words. "Wait the Middle World, where's that?" I ask since I never heard of such a place. "The Middle word is one of the steps that you need to take before going to your final judgement; well this is more of a resent step because usually people have 3 steps: dying, meeting with the people you loved and the final judgement." She says. "But isn't the meeting with the people you loved step, the same as the middle world?" I ask confuse. "Not exactly, because you did that step before coming here, but the problem with that step is that you never remember what happened when you were there", she explains. "So I already had a reunion with my family?" I ask a little surprise. "Yes, but you don't remember, and also the judges won't take that into consideration, so it's consider a useless step." "Then why does it exist?" "It's just for the simple entertainment of Death; they have a twisted sense of humour." "Death?" I ask.

'Why does death sound like a person?' I thought confuse about this information. "Long story, anyway here is your letter, read it carefully it will give you all the instructions you need." She answer while giving me the paper that she had in her hands. "Thanks" I say hesitant. "Michael I am not going to hurt you, I promise" the little teen girl says while smiling at me with sincerity clear in her eyes. I don't know why, but I have a feeling that she can be trusted. Unlike Ennard, I don't feel pressured in doing anything so I decide to trust her. I slightly nod my head while smiling weakly. She smiles back, so I decide to start reading the letter:

"Dear Michael Emily,

I welcome you to the Middle World, a world of second chances with the people you lost. In this letter, I will explain to you what is required of you in this world before your Final Judgment. The Final Judgment, it's the most important thing for the dead, because it will decide if you go to heaven or to hell.

You were brought here; because you and the people that harmed you have, unfinished business with you or you with them. So from now on, I will ask you to have a forgiving mind when you enter the door. Simply because if you continue to hold a grudge against anyone, you might not be able to make it to heaven.

Here is the list of the people you will meet (actually, most of the people you'll meet here need your forgiveness if they wish to not go to hell):

- Henry Emily and Charlotte Emily,

- Noah,

- The Aftons

- The missing children,

- Your old friends;

- Moreover, some people that you will meet randomly.

For the meeting, you will be warn whom you will meet that day, but not when. You can be teleported or you will meet them randomly during the day. You will have to stay with them until you come to some sort of agreement or that the time given to you runs out.

For each reunion, you will have a minimum of four days of recuperation and a maximum of one week. Do not forget that, when you'll have your very last meeting, someone will inform you that in 24 hours your Final Judgment will start.

To finish this letter, I would like to wish you good luck in your reunions. I know it's not going to be easy, that's why I am going to be available to help you. You just need to call my name or go to the centre of the town where my office is situated. There, I can help you with whatever you need. So be strong and remember; everything you'll do in this world will count.

Your ally Maya"

I finish reading and then I ask her, "So if I don't get the forgiveness of my brother, will I go to hell?" I looked up to make sure that she heard me, but she wasn't there. "Maya?" I ask, but I receive no response. Then I start feeling warmth in my hand, so I looked at the letter and I see it glow into a blue light. When the glowing stopped, I saw that the letter had something else writing on it. It says: "Michael, do you need something?" I ask "how can you do that?" The text glows slightly and then a new text appeared and says "Well, to make it simple I have magic and this magic lets me do a lot of stuff." "So you can also hear me with you magic?" "You can say that, but it is more complicated than that. Anyway, you should really enter the door because it takes my energy to maintain it there." "Oh, sorry I will go now" "Thanks, and Michael" "Yes?" "Be carful" "I will, thank you Maya" "Your welcome, I have to go now, so see you around!" "Alright, see ya" After I said that the letter glows up again and the original text appeared ones again.

This is going to be an interesting situation, but at least this time I won't have the fear of dying.
