That Strange New Girl

CHAPTER-TEN

We were sitting at the counter with a cup of coffee, having a conversation I told her about our family business and how my father wanted to be a lawyer not a business man and so he ran away from the house.

She told me that her parents are one of the elders of the their community, elders are like government bodies and that's where they are gone for the annual dinner. We kept talking when suddendly Anna kept her hand on my mouth.

"Ssshhh ! Someone's there. " She whispered.

"It must be a cat. " I whispered staying cautious.

"No, I can smell them, it's a vampire.  " She whispered.

"Okay ! Do you have a club or something ? " I asked in a whisper.

"No. " She replied pacing towards the door.

I looked around to find something useful.

Think ,Think.

Got it, a poker might come in handy...so I tip toed to the fireplace in the living room grabbed a poker stick and joined Anna.

Her hand was on the door knob she was turning it stealthily, a grunt escaped from her and with in a fraction of seconds she was on the porch I went out after her and saw a girl standing in front of Anna, she was dressed like a goth from top to bottom, she had black hair, her skin was paler than Anna's, she had brown eyes and she seemed quite devilish.

"You ? What are you doing here ? " Anna asked.

"It's none of your business. " She smirked.

"Who is she Anna ? " I asked.

"You are not suppose to be here, please go inside -"

"Oh ! You have a boy toy and it's a human. " She spat without letting Anna finish.

"Blake please ! " Anna said.

"No Anna I can't leave you alone out here with this malign bitch. " I said looking into Anna's eyes.

"Human it seems you have a very big mouth, do you even know who am I or what can I do to you ? " She snickered as if offended.

"Get lost Monica before I call the S.P, criminals like you are forbidden in this area.  "  Anna warned.

"I am going for now, but very soon you will come willingly to me to die. " She uttered and she ran away like a flash.

We stayed there for a while to confirm her departure, when Anna was statisfied she took me inside.

She locked the door behind me, she clenched her fists and was staring blankly at the floor.

"What's wrong ? " I asked worried.

She looked at me, fear clearly flared in her eyes.

"Nothing. " She denied.

"I know something is wrong, I can clearly see it in your eyes so please tell me. " I said.

She sighed.

"She is Monica Hubert, daughter of Antonio Hubert. he is the master of  termination in our world, a grim criminal he lives in France but his orders are carried through out the world- "

"I am listening. " I impelled.

"He despises humans,they are criminals and are banned here, his daughter came here without anyone knowing this is serious !  " She muttered as if talking to herself.

"Why does he hate humans ? " I asked.

"In nineteen hundred and fifteen a war broke down among the vampires and the humans, it was perilous it went on for about four years...after shedding lots of blood and losing lots of lives, both sides decided to make a truce, leaders of both sides were of the view that it was better to be on a truce than losing the lives of innocents and so they signed a pact for the betterment of their people. "

"Go on. " I said.

"They say Antonio was in love with a human girl and so was she, they got married she was a human then but was made a vampire while giving birth to their baby because human bodies aren't made to bear the child of a vampire after that they were living their lives happily...but there were some humans who were against the truce, so once Antonio went out for search of food, in the mean while some humans broke into their house and brutally killed his wife Monique and when he came back and saw the house and his dead love, he screamed in agony. "

"What about the baby ? " I asked.

"After coming to his senses, he looked for the baby in every room but he finally found her safe in a basket in the basement...and so he swore to kill every human he will come across with to avenge his beloved's death...and that's what he is doing ever since. " She narrated.

"God ! I-I don't have any words to express my feelings, I genuinely feel sorry for him. " I muttered.

"I have to tell the S.P immediately. " She said taking her phone out of her pocket.

She punched a couple of numbers which I was unfimiliar with and she was waiting for someone to answer her call, S.P is the special police force they are like our police but they are vampires. Anna filled them in with every detail, half an hour later she hung up.

"So what did they say ? " I asked.

"They said that, they will be here shortly and notify the community of elders. " She replied.

I nodded.

"Oh my God ! " She gasped.

"What happened ? " I asked concerned.

"Monica has seen you, she knows about you now, if she tries to - " She trailed off.

"What are you saying, if she tries what ? " I asked holding her hand.

"Please promise me, you will stay safe. " She pleaded crying.

"Anna I am fine, look at me she won't hurt me. " I said trying to calm her down.

"Promise me Blake, please ! " She forced.

"I promise. " I said kissing on her forehead.

I wipped away her tears, she clung to me tighter than ever.

"An ! Please don't cry. " I said and gently kissed on her head.

"I don't wanna lose you, I want to be with you. " She said breathing against my chest.

"Me too. " I said.

Even I was scared, I didn't wanna lose her. She is my soul mate but somewhere deep down I felt myself in Antonio's shoes. My only comfort zone was her, being around her made me happy.
