So, it's been three weeks.

Three whole weeks post coitus, at least that's a pretentious way to put it.

It's been three weeks since Harry and Mona hooked up in a guest room at the wedding.

Nothing much has happened since, except that it's been three weeks and Mona feels like she's going to start many fires across the city of London.

It's well into December now and everyone is obsessing over the holidays. Christmas is a breath away and there's so much to do before her annual self care break from work and duties.

Mona groans under the warm covers as someone tenderly pokes her awake. The person moves to strip off the covers and she struggles but they're determined.

"What the hell, babes?" Love calls out, harshly.

Love Atkins is Mona's childhood best friend. Well, her second best friend after Harry. Love and Mona have a healthier friendship, seeing as they don't disappear from each other's lives and only return for sex.

In this friendship, Love is the mother-friend and that's probably why Mona hasn't told her anything about the events of the wedding or Harry for that matter.

All they know is that he was in town and he suddenly disappeared, yet again. It's just a little more different this time around and it makes it a little bearable.

"Why are you so mean?" Mona cries out.

"It's afternoon, get up," Love barks, tearing open the curtains.

Mona winces at the dull light from the winter sun and she rolls her eyes.

"I have the day off, back off," Mona warns.

"Not when you're wallowing like someone died," she smirks.

"My pride has died," Mona groans.

This causes Love to roll her eyes and climb the bed, joining her dramatic friend. They sit up with their backs to the wall and Love gets under the covers with her.

Mona rests her head on the waiting shoulder and Love soothingly holds her close.

"I feel like you're not telling me everything," she says.

"About what?" Mona clears her throat.

"You and Harry." Love states.

"What about us?" Mona sighs.

"He told you he was going to the states for some days and you took it very personal," Love explains.

Mona cannot deny that.

"It's been three weeks and he hardly chats with me, you know,"

"Is there a reason you care?"

"Isn't he supposed to be my best friend?"

Love exhales and slowly nods in understanding.

"I thought you were done with this lad. No best friend acts like this," she is upset on behalf of her friend.

"Yeah, but that's why I'm concerned. Harry has never been like this," Mona's voice is softer than usual.

"He has proven to be shit time after time, and you keep forgiving him for some weird reason," Love frowns.

"I've known him forever, just like you." Mona says.

"Yeah but you don't extend that same benevolent forgiveness to me as you do with him," Love tells her.
