I jiggled the lock of my flat's door. Oh, sorry, apartment. My word, this bloody American country has everything wrong.

Finally I remembered; I had put the key in the pocket of my black trench coat. I pushed my pale hand inside the folds of fabric, and fished out the tiny silver devil. I inserted it into the brass knob and turned the handle, allowing myself inside and getting out of the driving rain that threatened pneumonia.

I closed the door non-too-quietly and bolted the lock. I sighed and hung my coat on a single, simple, wooden peg behind the pine green door to let it dry, and shook the water out of my long, light brown hair that reached to the middle of my back.

I may as well introduce myself, as you'll more than likely ask sooner or later. The name's Jackson. Savanna Jackson. I'm a sociopath, (or, to help your tiny mind to understand, I suck at anything social or having to do with people.)

So here I am, recently emigrated from England to America, searching for one thing; to rid my life of the dullness that ceased to extinguish. Ever since my arch enemy moved here, my life in London was anything but the excitement I craved. So here I sit, in a single bedroom flat.... Ugh, apartment....

I rolled my eyes and plopped onto the faded, navy blue couch, resting my feet on the coffee table and picking up the black remote to flip through the channels on the tele. Nothing was on, so I flipped it off. Rubbing my temples, I decided to lay back and relax.

But not for long. My blue eyes flashed open and I grabbed my phone, shoved it in my pocket, jumped up, grabbed my coat and plunged out into the rain. Right on cue, my iPhone began to sing; a text.

"Brilliant. Bloody brilliant."

I pulled the device from my pocket and peered at the screen:

"I'm ready."

A maniacal grin spread across my face as I took off down the street at a full tilt run.

"BRILLIANT!"

So yeah, this is yet another story, but hey! I'm sharing it with one of my great friends @Animalsandadjectives, a fellow Shelockian! She and I are both writing a story with our sociopath characters, and she's got the other side of the story.
