Daphne felt furious. She has worked and given everything up to be with Jefferson. She had worked tirelessly to get him to fall in love with her and he was losing interest. She knew he had seen the crack in her facade when he mentioned Ethan. Had seen it when she glared a Franklin for licking her after she claimed to love dogs. And he had a strange look on his face after he went zip lining. Her rant ended when a text from Jefferson flashed across her screen. Picking it up she smiled he had asked her to come over when she could. She waited a few minutes to respond then got ready to head over.
Upon arriving at the palace she had to go through security like she would try to pull a knife on anyone. As she went though she spotted Beatrice's chamberlain Stacey and Samantha talking. They were deep in thought and then Sam tripped and the papers she was holding slid across the floor right to Daphne's feet. Picking the cards up she let out a small gasp. They were wedding invitations for July 4th. How patriotic she thought as she discreetly snapped a picture before handing the extra cards to Sam.
"Are you alright Samantha? That was quite the fall, must have been a wet spot," she said walking to Samantha who had already popped back up. Samantha laughed nervously.
"Yeah clumsy me, thanks again but I've got to go bye!" Samantha said before dashing off with Stacey. July 4th, Daphne thought smugly before sending a quick picture of the invitation to Natasha to publish, this was at least a few years off good press coverage which Daphne would need if she was going to be able to get Jefferson to propose to her.Jefferson looked a little nervous when Daphne walked in but he stood when she walked in but instead of his usual kiss he just motioned to the couch.
"Wanna watch an action movie?" Daphne worked to keep her smile from falling as she nodded enthusiastically and sat down to watch the movie. Midway through the movie her phone rang and she saw it was Natasha. Excusing herself to the balcony she walked out.
"Is this real?"
"I only send the real stuff Natasha" Daphne responded rolling her eyes. "The chamberlain and princess Samantha were the ones I got it from, but leave that out"
"Of course, what is the price?"
"Good coverage preferably to get engaged" Daphne said nonchalantly.
"Done, the story runs tomorrow," Was all Natasha said before the line went dead. It was too easy.It was a sunny day for Daphne when she opened her phone to see a long list of breaking news notifications about a leaked wedding date. Daphne was shocked to see that the story spread so quickly. It truly has been to easy and now she would help Jefferson and his family find the culprit and Daphne would be on better terms with Her Majesty, Queen Beatrice.
