About 5 months passed by, and as the time passed, my friendship with Vic became stronger. He and Karina became my best friends, and we were always getting into all sorts of trouble together. She was always pushing me and Vic together, and at first it annoyed me, but now I didn't mind as much. I was starting to like him, and everyday I fell for him a little harder. I knew he was falling for me too, and we became comfortable around each other. When we would walk, he would put his arm around me, and it just felt... Right. Karina was happy that we were finally getting comfortable with each other, and she would constantly be telling me that Vic and I were going to end up together. "Its inevitable. Its just fate. I mean, have you seen how he looks at you? It makes me sick." I laughed and said, "Maybe one day." She punched my arm and said, "Well, make that day happen soon. I'm tired of waiting!" The bell rang, and Vic was waiting outside my class. He flung his arm around me, and we walked to my next class. He gave me a lazy smile, then walked away. God, his smile always gave me butterflies... I spend the rest of the day thinking about him. His smile, his personality, just everything about him made me so happy. The day was over, and Vic and I walked home together, as always. We weren't talking, just enjoying each others company. We reached my house, and we said goodbye. He slid his arm off from around my shoulder, but his hand lingered on my hand. I gave his hand a little squeeze, and then I walked into my house, smiling. "Mom? Dad?" I called out and no one answered. I sighed, and walked to my room. Its been like this a lot lately, no one being home. My parents began fighting, and they were always gone. I would rather they be gone than here fighting, but I missed them. I fell onto my bed and closed my eyes, fighting tears. Next thing I knew, I was asleep, but I was woken up by a knock on my door. I stood up and stumbled to my door, and opened it. "Vic?" I mumbled. "Hey Mona, did I wake you up?" I laughed and asked, "Is it that obvious?" He hugged me and replied, "Maybe just a little. I was gonna ask, you wanna go for a walk? It a beautiful evening, and I wouldn't want to spend it with anyone but you." I blushed and told him to give me 5 minutes to get ready. I ran to fix my hair, change into shorts, and put shoes on. We started walking, and it was such a lazy evening. The air was warm, since it was a late May afternoon, and Vic had his arm around me. "Let's ask each other questions?" I nodded, and we shot questions at each other. We were walking in a field when he grabbed my shoulder and we stopped walking. "I have one serious question. Answer it honestly?" I smiled and said yes. "Will you be my girlfriend?" There was a million butterflies in my stomach, and I looked deep into his eyes. I leaned close to his ear, and whispered, "Yes" he hugged me tightly, and pulled me back. He looked at me, his eyes full of happiness, and kissed me. "You have no idea how happy you just made me, my beautiful Mona..."
