CLOSE ENEMY

Mrs. Hargraves could never forget that face even though she tries to, she was scared to death, seeing that face brought back terrible memories, memories she never wants to surface again in her life or her children's life. So she went ahead and told the helpers to finish what she started and went upstairs to bath and took the food to the hospital to see her children and find out how they were doing.

      At the hospital, Fiona's brother, junior he was beside her the whole time and he suddenly woke up and saw Fiona beside the blinds looking out the windows and he went over to her "What's wrong Fi? why are you up?" he said as he held and squeezed her hands

"it's my fault, Jamar,  all these things keep happening because of me I should have been more careful I shouldn't be this careless," she said as she started sobbing then he went over to her patting her back and letting her know he would be here no matter what happens "Fi, look at me, I would do anything for your happiness and you freaking know that I don't think you being this way is your fault or anybody Fi, you are perfect just the way you are and if nobody likes that then fuck them, fuck them all,"  he said smiling and she faced back and hugged and whispered 'thank you' and she continued to cry

"You know if you continue like this right, people might get the idea am the older one here" he finally said laughing trying to make her laugh and Fiona pushed him away as she roughed his hair "easy with the hair dude, that's where my good looks start from don't ruin it" then she laughed. then they went on laughing and joking about everything they did and Fiona paused for a moment then she remembered Mike and got seriously pissed at herself and literally hated herself too she then left her brother and went over to the bed and laid down 

"Is something wrong? did I do something?" Jamar asked wondering what would bring that sort of attitude all of a sudden then she looked at him and smiled "nothing"

"Yeah, sure, as I would ever buy that, you know if you wouldn't tell me you should just say it no need to lie about it or 'keeping you safe' that type of shit you always say and by the way it's annoying," he said in a fit of rage. Jamar has always been his sister protector ever since they were young, he always saw to protect her every time, and even necessary he went to learn how to fight just to protect her from people there was a time in his early years in high school he decided that he would go and check up on his sister and all but on getting there was a bunch of people shouting at her and telling how she looks and how she dresses that she looks sick and at the verge of death and she had the boldness to come to school in her condition and all he could do was stand there and look because he froze, he stood there looking at his sister cry, crying her eyes out it was like all his system shut down on seeing what they did to her just little after then she fainted and he ran over and held her as she fell. Since then, he has always taken it upon himself to take care of Fiona by any means necessary because after she fainted at school that's when she was diagnosed with her sickness he blames himself for not being enough, he blames himself for not being a good brother to his only sister and until this date he still does so every chance he gets he spends it with her without trying to mess it up. Then he notices how she was looking at him "am sorry, I was just trying to explain to you how I feel when you hide things from me and I clearly can see it, it's not fun you see" he said laughing "and by the way, where the heck is mom? damn am starving should I get you anything before mom gets back?" he asked her and she shook her head and smiled 

"no need for that mom's here" and both of then turned and looked at Mrs.Hargraves as she smiled back nervously and she went inside and closed the door behind her then she knew It was time to smile and at like nothing ever happened and anyways she is good at that.

                 Mike got home and couldn't take any more of all the drama, Fiona was sick and he treated her badly Jeff and Fiona's mom were acting weird and he was sure as hell she would not call him back because she hated his face and everything about it he made her daughter sicker "I mean who would ever allow some random sociopath like me visit her daughter, who would? not me" he continued talking to himself and his mom walked him and saw him talking to himself then she went over to him and tapped him by the shoulder

"what were you talking about Mike?" she smiled and bent her head to his face level after she turned to face him 

"it's nothing mom, am just trying to gain some sense you know like you always tell me too" he took in a deep breath "I guess I should have listened, I would have been a normal person who respects women" he signed "but am not," he said in a very soft tone his mom could hardly hear him 

"son, what is wrong? talk to me, please" she asked as she sat down next to him and brushed his gently with her hand "is it one of your friends, or is it your dad again? because if it's him I swear..."

"MOM! PLEASE!! dad hasn't been with us for years, I mean fucking YEARS mom stop mentioning him every time I have got a bad mood you are putting him as if he is important which actually annoys me because he isn't it's always you and it will forever be you so enough already, please!" he said as he stood up and took an excuse to walk out on her

"but... I wanted..." she said as she saw her son walked out on her with tears on his face and she didn't even know what was wrong with him she felt very sad. Mike was weak to his bones while he claimed the stairs to his room and all he could do was think about was the last time he was with Fiona and then he knew he fucked up real bad he didn't even bother to think if the reason why she kissed him back was that she actually she felt the same but he already looked at her a wayward person who just randomly liked him even though he thought he was in no place to treat her that way but there was no way he would make it up to her now and he regrets every moment he spent with her in his place it says nothing of him and it definitely said nothing of her too.

    At the hospital, Mrs.Hargraves was with her two children and they were having their meals when she looked at her daughter and over to Jamal and smiled and was about to cry at the same time 

"What's wrong mom? you look down are you tired?" Jamal asked leaving Fiona's side and went over to his mom's "hey," he raised her face with his hands to face him "what's wrong" then she looked at him and shook her head then she looked at Fiona and at him again giving him signs 'not here' then Jamal was worried and he could now tell by her facial expression that it's something very disturbing, but he couldn't help but keep quiet and follow his mom's order

"oh please, spill it out, mom! am sick not dying for God's sake is it my report? am I getting worse? not curable?" she looked at her not taking her eyes off her so she wouldn't miss anything even if her mom and brother decides to lie "somebody please say something" she said as she grows impatient

"There is nothing wrong my love, it just works stuff" she nodded and sniffed

"Well, I never knew you being a lawyer is a course for tears when you are with your daughter in a damn hospital. MOM! STOP IT PLEASE, it's frustrating already" she said screaming, while her mom and brother came running over to her

"mom? please just say what's wrong just spill it she is too stubborn to listen now," he said after looking at Fiona and shaking his head

"He is back" she broke into tears "he is back Jamal! I didn't do anything to stop him, it's all my fault" she continued to cry "i...i...i... didn't" she burst into tears again

"Who is back mom?" Fi asked with her heartbeat racing like hell 

"not possible, no fucking way that jerk is here" he said looking at his mom

"what the hell are you guys talking about? who is 'HE' say something guys" she said as she calmed down to listen to what Jamal has to say

"Fucking Jeffery Andreson got out of jail," Jamal said.
