The Balcony Date

Kartik enters his home and asks "Mummy, did you take your pills?"

"Of course yes Kartik, how can I forget when I have such a caring son to remind me?"

There was a knock on the door. Saumya looked extremely happy. She knew that Naira would come. "Aunty, my mom made kachoris and kaju katli to celebrate this occasion."

Saumya smiled and Kartik thought to himself "Yeh Sherni bhi na"

Kachoris were his weakness and his first love. He can never get enough of them. Kachoris can instantly lift his mood up no matter how terrible his day has been.

Saumya said "Kartik, look at how sweet Naira is. I always wish that I had an angel daughter like her but look at me. I gave birth to a monkey like you."

Whoop, Kartik swinged and grabbed Kachoris from Naira at the speed of light. "Ugly mendak" Naira yelled.

Naira then inquired "Aunty, took your medicines?"

Saumya smiled and said "Yes, I took my pills" She knew that Kartik and Naira always twinned.

Naira then said "Aunty, I have to go now. Bye and also tell your son to stop stealing my purses."

"Kartik the monkey, did you steal her purse? I am going to punish you now."

"Mom, I didn't do it." He knew it was of no use. His mom hit him and that too in front of his enemy Naira. However, Kartik didn't care and was too busy eating the whole box of Kachoris in less than 5 minutes. Then, he was expecting something. It was a note that said "NBTC". He knew what it meant exactly.

After a couple of hours, there was a beautiful young girl peering at the window waiting for someone. She was lost in his thoughts. Then finally, she sees someone. Her face lit up like a Christmas tree seeing him. "Mendak, you are finally here." she said.

"Sorry Sherni, I wanted to get you a bouquet and a bracelet. That is why I was late. As soon as I saw your NBTC note, I knew that you wanted me to Come To your Balcony at Night as that is what NBTC in reverse meant."

"The bouquet looks so beautiful Mendak. I am so excited to have a secret dinner date with you. I made sure that my Mumma and Pappa went on a long drive so that they wouldn't disturb us."

"Wow, what a great idea Sherni, I loved it. By the way, you look far far more prettier than the flowers. Hey Hey Hey"

Kartik then opened his wallet. He had a picture of a really cute little girl who looked like she was 8 or 9. Kartik says "What a cute girl"

Naira smiled and said "Of course yes, you are lucky that you have her in your life"

Kartik gives her a tight hug and gets emotional, "If you and your family weren't here, I don't know what would have happened to me and my mom"

Kartik was only 8 when he found out that his mom had Schizophrenia. He has seen his mom suffering from hallicunations. However, the worst part was people including his own dad calling her "pagal". His dad clearly had an affair with his employee but used Saumya's illness to his advantage to hide his affair. On this day 12 years ago, his mom made a very stong decision. She made a decision to leave the Goenka Villa for good and forever. She only took along with her uncured illness and her son Kartik. Kartik remembers that man stopping him and crying to get Kartik's sympathy. However, Kartik was too intelligent and smart to understand what was going on. He remembers the fateful day when he said "You aren't my dad, you are a cheater Mr.Goenka."

Saumya was searching for a house to rent when she met the Singhanias and the Maheshwaris. Kartik remembers meeting Naira on this exact same day twelve years ago. Both of them were kids in the same age group.

When he faced her Naira, the first thing she ever told him was "Mendak bahut zyada tar tar karte hai" Mendak became his nickname right from their first meet.

As kids, Kartik and Naira were always at loggerheads. They always used to fight. For toys, books, balls, laptops, phones and what not. Nobody knows when their fights turned in friendship and eventually love. Initially, Kaira stole each other's stuff but later they realized that they stole each other's hearts forever.

"Imagine everyone in our college knowing that we are dating" Kartik said

"They would die due to shock. All those poor ladies who ladies who try so hard to impress you"

"What about all the boys that are behind you? They would die in shock too"

"My mummy is so ready for a bahu though. Want me to get her one?"

"Ha ha, aunty has to wait longer for that. But what's the point in being her bahu. I am already her beti and I am much better than her monkey. "

"Mendak needs his Mendaki" Kartik said in a deep husky voice as he pulled Naira towards himself by sensously touching her on her waist. Naira reciprocated by putting her legs over his knees and then showing him how perfect her legs were. She was very good at seducing him.

"But dating in secret is super fun. See, we pretend to be enemies infront of the world but we romance in secret."

"Of course honey, I love romancing in secret. That is why I secretly entered your room last time. You became a bheegi billi then. You didn't let me romance. You were behaving like a typical shy wifey. That is why I challenged you. Naira grabbed Kartik by his color and then removed his jacket in a very sensuous way. Then, she gave him a hot kiss on his chin deliberately missing his lips. She was such a tease.

"Shut up, I wasn't. My Pappa and Mumma were right next to my room. If they ever caught us, we would never be able to have fun like this. We would have been expected to get married and everyone in college would then call us aunty uncle. How boring is that"

Kartik and Naira were well sorted when it came to what their future plans. They knew each other for 12 years and at this point couldn't imagine their lives without each other. They fought almost every single day but breakup was out of their dictionary. They wanted to get married but after they grew up. They wanted to first find a well paying job and get stable in life. They also knew that they had a lot of growing up to do before getting married.

"Naira this is a special bracelet for you. It is a personalized bracelet which has Mendak and Sherni on it. One day, I want to buy a big house. Then, I will take my queen along with me into the house after marrying her and we will live happily ever after."

Naira totally loved his bracelet and loved his plan. Kartik lovingly made Naira wear the bracelet. Then, he took a flower from the bouquet and put it in her head. He couldn't take his eyes off Naira. She was the most gorgeous woman to ever exist for him and she was his queen who completed him.
