months went by, the two boys grew closer and closer. chan was smiling more and more, but it was genuine, instead of him just wanting to be nice. 

felix had learned more asl, having more conversations that flowed instead of him talking, and chan spelling out things. while chan was dead asleep (something he wasnt able to do without felix) felix thought of his favourite memory. 

chan needed to pick the strawberries before they got too heavy and fell. but it had been raining all day. felix tapped him on the shoulder with a big smile, holding three baskets. 

but its raining 

chan signed. 

look out the window berry boy 

chan turned his head to the window, the rain had stopped, and bits of sunlight had started to peak through the clouds. he smiled, taking a basket from felix and giving the third one to daisy. while they were picking, chan felt a little cold drop land on his nose. he placed his strawberry in the basket then looked up at the sky. the sun had disappeared again, and the clouds looked like theyd start sobbing at any given time. 

he hummed urgently, getting felix's attention 

"what is it ?" he asked. chan raised his hand to spell out rain but before he could, a loud clap of thunder shook the ground and the clouds let out everything on the two boys' heads. daisy went wild, running into the house as quickly as she could, knocking over chan in the process, right on top of felix. their baskets rolled to the side, drops of rain drenching their entire bodies. 

but they grinned. 

i love you 

chan signed 

 i love you more 

felix signed back. 

when the boys stood in the shower, daisy laying right outside to make sure they were fine, they hugged. fitting together like two puzzle pieces, swaying to their tunes again. 

felix was healing fast. he didnt need bandages anymore, and the wounds were no more than ugly scabs. but chan didnt want him to go yet. and felix didnt want to go either. he told chan he would leave when theyre scars. chan didnt want him to leave ever. 

that means he would go back to being lonely, not having anyone to talk to, or chop strawberries, or hug or sleep with. he would be lonely again. 

and that would mean felix would go back to being high. floating with no purpose. but he didnt want to intrude in chan's life. 

he had a feeling the thing in his dream was chan. that if he stayed, chan would be in danger.

but both boys wanted nothing more than to stay with each other
