"Why must you make things so difficult!!", I screamed at my dad through our mind link. Sometimes I wish I could just cut everybody off and just be by myself. "Son,I'm sorry, but you need to take this seriously, rouges are threatening our lands! How can you not be worring about this?", Sighing, I blocked my dad off from our mind link. Sure roughs were a problem, but I am far to exhausted to be worring about it now. I would just deal with it when I felt up to it.

Feeling even more tired from stressing, I exited my office with ever intent of heading straight to bed. As if I would get any sleep. I haven't had a peaceful night of sleep since the night she left. Walking down the stairs, I spotted a small child in pink, Doc Mcstuffins pjs sitting on the bottom step of the huge spiral staircase. Hesitateing to continue walking down the stairs, I slowly turned around to head back to my office when I heard a small voice. "Hi", the little girl said, looking up at me with chocolate brown eyes and brown curly hair. She couldn't be no more than eight years old. Out of no where the little girl stood up and held out her hand for me to come to her.

I reluctantly took the last remaining steps down to where the little girl stood. As I reached her, she placed her tiny hand in mine and pulled me down so that me and her were sitting side by side on the bottom step. She gave me a sad face. I was about to ask her what was wrong, when she jumped into my arms. It caught me off guard and I almost pulled back until I heard solf

sobs coming from the little girl.

Not sure what to do, I awkwardly stroked her hair, trying to calm her. Pulling her back, just enough to see her beautiful heart shaped face. Her eyes were puffy and red. Whiping a stray tear from her eye, I asked her what was wrong. "My mommy left me, why did mommy leave me?." Then it hit me, Her mother had left a few days ago, saying she did not agree with the way I was running the pact. This little girls mother was now a rouge. How could she just leave her child? "What's your name?" I asked her. Taking in a sharp breath, she held onto me tigher and said, "Brooke". "Well Brooke, Can I tell you a story?" A small smile played on her lips, "Sure", she said purking up.

Once upon a time I had someone leave me, and guess what?" , the little girl looked up at me with anticipation. So I continued. "I am doing just fine. Here's what you need to do, even when you are sad, smile. If you are feeling down, think of something that makes you happy. But the most important thing is to have good friends by your side.", I looked down at Brooke who wore a frown again. "What is it?", I asked her. "I don't have any friends", Brooke said, beginning to cry again. "Hey", I whispered to her, pulling her eyes up to meet mine. I hesitated before saying "I will make you a deal little miss Brooke, if you will be my friend, I will be yours, and it can be our little secret." Her eyes lit up and she threw her arms around my neck, hugging me tightly.

I sat at the bottom of the stair case a good thirty minutes, thinking about what I had just told Brooke, before realizing that Brook had fallen alsleep with her arms still tightly around my neck. I gently scooped her up in my arms and made my way through the living room. I slowly laid Brooke down on the big wrap around couch that took up most of the living room. She stired in her sleep but didn't wake up. I grabbed a throw blanket that was hanging off the back of the couch and placed it over her tiny form.

Rubbing my eyes, I made my way out of the living room and down the long hallway to my bedroom. But before I could make it all the way there, I stopped when I heard voices coming from the kitchen. Quickly, I snuck back down the long hallway and took a left turn and sank down a wall beside the entrance to the kitchen. "Judith we have already discussed this, Layla will come back home. She has to, the pact needs her.", I heard my beta say in a hushed voice. Shocked could not begin to describe what I was feeling when I heard her name. Then the anger started to build inside me, I stood up and stormed off, slamming the door behind me I stepped into the cold November air. I shifed into my enormous jet black wolf and took off, running at full speed, not caring where I went. I had to get out of here, just for a while. I don't need her", I thought as I ran. I rejected her, and that's all there is to it. If her parents think bringing her back home will change anything, they are highly mistaken. "You say that now, but you and I both know you regret what you did to her", Jake said, invaded my thoughts. Deep down, my heart acked at his words. Feeling even more frustrated, I let a blood chilling howl out and pushed my paws even harder as I ran deeper into the forest.

Ps...Here is a pic of Blakes gorgeous wolf..and those eyes could kill (;
