Tw death

The days that go by-

This was going to be a terrible day, one of those days when it's best to stay in bed because everything is going to turn out bad.
Duke slowly opened his eyes with a sadness instantly washing over him as he did so. Every day was like this, the sorrow that he felt was so excruciating that eventually he just began to feel nothing at all. He lay silent, stating at the ceiling.

'what's the point?'

He thought to himself.

'surely it would be easier to just die than continue living in this miserable apathetic existence.'

As the annoying buzz of his alarm began to ring he slowly swung his legs over the side of the soft warm bed. As much as he wished that he could just stay in the comfort of his home he also wanted to go and see his girlfriend. Y/n was the only person that made Duke truely happy. He lived for the time they would spend together making tiktoks and having long meaningful conversations.

He missed this, ever since a month ago he hadn't been able to bring himself to leave the house.

Im complete silence Duke began to get ready, slipping on a pair of skinny jeans and a black ovo hoodie. He looked on the mirror and was met with his reflection, yet he felt so de-attached from himself. After running his hands through his hair he decided that's as good as it was going to get and he made his way to the kitchen.

He hated this room, mostly because it brought memories of when he was happy and he couldn't bare the pain of knowing that we would never feel that way again. After boiling himself a coffee he downed the scalding hot bitter liquid not reacting when it burnt his throat. He didn't react to much anymore. Although he never cared for the taste he needed the caffeine to keep him sane.

Outside was thick with fog, the kind that you would expect to see in a horror movie, but Duke liked that. It matched with the emotions that he felt. Frost covered the pavement and crunched beneath his feet, little puffs of cold smoke left his lips with every exhale. The cold was somewhat comforting.

He knew exactly where he was going and a part of him couldn't wait until he could see y/n again but the rest of him felt dead because he knew that he couldn't stay with her. Taking the last turn to his destination his mouth curved upwards ever so slightly, he could see her in the distance.

'hello my dear, I've missed you so much.'

His voice came out as a whisper.
With his bare hand he brushed off the snow that was covering the grey stone.
He didn't care that it was cold, he couldn't bare to see the love of his life covered by the white winter dust.

He didn't feel silly talking to the headstone.
It just felt like he was with her again.
Of course he missed hearing Y/N's soft voice and seeing her cheeks light up with life as she laughed, her wild hair being tossed around in the wind. He missed it more than anything, but being in her presence alone was enough to make him feel safe.

As time went on the sun began to set casting an orange shadow upon them. He had lost track of the time since he had been so engaged in what he was telling y/n but he didn't care. Minutes turned to hours when they were together just like they did when she was still alive.

Although it pained Duke, he knew that he couldn't stay forever. Gently he pressed his lips to the cold stone.

'Goodnight my love, I'll see you soon.'

He spoke before walking off into the fog. A single tear rolled down his cheek. He knew that soon enough he would be back to stay with y/n but this time he wouldn't be arriving on foot. He would be arriving in a hearse.
