You've arrived at the ballet studio early. You're sitting in the corner watching the class before you and waiting your turn. You sigh as you watch the younger girls flit around on the dance floor in their pointe shoes. You had started at that age and still couldn't dance en pointe after four years, and meanwhile these girls were already dancing in the shoes. You look around and wish you'd brought a book to read.

Out of the corner of your eye, you notice the back door to the studio slowly opening. Your boyfriend Louis slides in and softly closes the door behind him. You gasp when you see him. He notices you and smiles and wiggles his eyebrows at you. You run to him and throw your arms around his neck. He picks you up and spins you around. "What are you doing here, Louis?" you ask, giggling a little.

"I came to see you," he said, kissing your cheek and setting you down. "How've you been?"

"Fine," you say, smiling at him. "How about you?"

"Better, now that I'm with you," he says and gently strokes your cheek.

Your face warms with pleasure. You wrap your arms around him, laying your head on his chest. He chuckles softly and hugs you back.

You turn your head toward the center of the dance floor where the girls are still dancing. Louis tilts his head to the side and glances down at you. "Weren't you in this class at one point?"

You nod. "Yeah, I was," you say, "but I quit."

"Why?" he asks.

"My feet weren't meant for those shoes." You glance down at your feet, then back up at him. "I'm flat-footed."

"Aw," he chuckles softly. "I'm sorry."

"Oh, don't be," you say, looking up at him and stroking his hair. "I don't regret it."

The two of you are silent for a while after that. Then you noticed some of the girls looking your way. They haven't recognized Louis yet, and you want to keep it that way. "Hey Lou," you say, and motion with your head. "Let's go upstairs."

He nods quickly. You take his hand and lead him back out of the studio, down the hallway, and upstairs to the storage closet. You gently close the door behind the two of you and turn the light on. Louis stands across from you, looking you up and down. You blush.

"You look so good," he murmurs, reaching out to touch your cheek. You stare into his eyes as he moves closer to you. You start to lean in, but stop when you hear footsteps in the hallway.

Without a word, you jump behind a shelf and squeeze in between two stacks of chairs. Louis follows you. You hear the door creak open, then there is silence. Then the lights turn off and you see the crack of light disappear as the door creaks shut again.

You snicker, and then the two of you burst out laughing. "What was that?" cried Louis, tears in his eyes from laughing so hard. You lean into his chest, trying to catch your breath.

"So," says Louis after you're both starting to breathe normally again, "where were we?" You feel his warm breath on your face as his nose touches yours.

You blush as you feel him move past your face and start nibbling on your ear softly. "Louis!" you giggle, pushing him away. But he grabs your waist with both arms and pulls you back to him.

"You look so good," he says again.

Your blush deepens. "You can't even see me," you tell him.

"But I've seen you before," he says. "And you always look that way."

You smile as you slowly wrap your arms around his neck and kiss his cheek. He chuckles softly as you pull back. "I'm so lucky to have you," he says, before leaning forward and kissing you on the mouth. You pull away from him just to say, "I love you so much, Louis."

"I love you more," says Louis, and starts to kiss you over and over again.
