You and your boyfriend Liam have not been out together in a while because of how sick you've been lately. For two whole weeks, you'd been lightheaded, feverish and nauseous. You'd spent the days in bed sleeping, drinking bone broth (it was the only thing you could keep down) and staring at the TV (not really watching it); and you'd used up at least four whole tissue boxes. Now that your temperature was back to normal - and you hadn't thrown up since Wednesday - your date with Liam for that weekend was an okay. That Saturday afternoon Liam picks you up from your house and drives you over to the Botanical Gardens.

"So how've you been?" Liam asks you as you're riding alongside him in his car.

"Pretty good, actually," you say, smiling. "I feel like I'm almost fully recovered. Like 99 percent."

"That's good," murmurs Liam as the car pulls up to a stoplight. "Because I've missed you so much." He turns and leans over to kiss you, but you push him away. "Eyes on the road, Payne!" you tell him, giggling. He pouts playfully, then chuckles.

When you arrive, Liam parks the car and helps you out. "I have something to show you," he says, quickly pulling you by the hand through the entrance.

"Liam," you chuckle, a bit confused. "Where are we going?"

"It's a special place," he says over his shoulder as he marches you through the crowded cobblestone pathways. He leads you through a maze of tall green trees and beautifully colored flowers. You follow him until he brings you to a huge, green clearing with a lake and trees scattered all over. He pulls you over to a big magnolia tree.

"Wow, this is a big tree," you say, looking up at it's many branches and dark foliage.

"Exactly," says Liam, dropping your hand to grab an overhanging branch. "And that's why we can hide out here!" He winks at you.

"Hide out?" You give him an anxious look. "But Liam. . ." You look down at your clothes, then back up at him. "I can't climb in this!"

Liam smirks. "Oh, that's no problem," he says. He pulls you to him and wraps one arm around your waist. You laugh nervously as he hoists you up and begins climbing.

"Careful, Liam," you tell him as a bunch of giant leaves brush the side of your face.

"Sorry, love," he tells you. "Maybe this will be better." He pauses for a moment to shift your body so that you're lying over his shoulder instead. Now you're staring straight down and the ground and you can see how high you've climbed, making you dizzy.

"No, no, this is worse!" you cry, covering your eyes.

"Ach, all right," said Liam. He pulls you down slightly and you wrap your legs around his waist. He carries you up into the tree until he finally rests on a large branch. His back up against the tree trunk, he pulls you towards him until your knees are resting on top of his thighs. "There," he murmurs, wrapping his arms around your waist and grinning widely at you. You giggle, staring into his eyes.

"I've missed you so much," Liam growls in a low voice. He brings his face closer to yours and kisses you. You kiss him back, wrapping your arms around his neck. His grip tightens on your waist. You push him off. "Liam," you complain, but he pulls you back to him and kisses you harder. You push away again, panting for breath. You look around you. "Liam," you say again, shaking your head, "I don't think - "

Liam shushes you. "It's okay, sugar," he coos softly. "It's okay. I won't hurt you." He pulls you closer and kisses you again. This time he holds your body firmly against his. You start to squirm under his grasp, and eventually force him back off.

"Liam!" you cry. "I don't feel too good."

"Aw," says Liam softly, sticking his lower lip out. "What's wrong?"

"I just, um, I need to. . ." You try to begin climbing out of the tree.

"(Y/N)," says Liam. "(Y/N), wait - "

"Aaaah!" you scream as you feel yourself start to fall. You feel a jerk, then you feel your shirt tear as you land with a crash on the ground.

"(Y/N)!!" Liam cries, climbing down to get to you. "(Y/N). ." He makes his way over to you and picks you up. "Are you okay?!"

You nod as he helps you stand. You examine your dirty knees. "I'm a little sore, but it should be - should be - " You gasp, lurching.

"You sure you're okay?" Liam asks, gripping your shoulders to try and keep you standing.

"Ohhh," you groan. "I don't feel too good."

"Do you need to - " He is unable to finish his sentence as you lean over and throw up all over his shoes.

"Ohh," he moans, and you feel tears forming in your eyes. You feel horrible. You've just ruined your date.

Liam helps you stand, then picks you up and carries you over to a nearby bench beside the magnolia tree. He sits you on his lap, facing him, and gently wipes your face with his sleeve.

"I'm sorry, Liam," you say, in between sobs. "I've ruined it."

"Oh, (Y/N)," Liam coos gently, shaking his head. "You didn't ruin anything, love. It's fine."

"But it was supposed to be all quiet and peaceful," you moan. "And now. . I just feel horrible."

Liam cups your face in his hands and wipes your tears away. "(Y/N), sweetie," he says in a low voice, "don't be upset. It's alright." He smiles at you. "I still love you, and I always will." Then he leans in and kisses you full on the mouth.

"Oh, Liam," you say, and your eyes fill with tears. You lay your head on his shoulder and he wraps his arms around you. "I love you, (Y/N)," he says. "I always have and I always will, no matter what."
