The war with Quincies just ended, Shinigami won, with the help of several humans and Arrancar. Soul King is dead, his throne was replaced with Yhwach body as a linchpin balancing this world. But, no one know that except a handful of people. The others don't have to know that. What matter is the world is finally safe once more.

Ashido Y/N, the 4th seat of 8th division just got promoted into Vice-Captain under Yadomaru Lisa, the new appointed 8th division Captain. During the war, she helped Mashiro Kuna, 9th division self-claimed super vice captain, to secure the shinigami academy. Y/N is an incredible shinigami, she achieved Bankai in short amount of time, but, no one ever seen it, except for Shihoin Yoruichi and Urahara Kisuke.

She slain all the quincies with one blast of her Bankai, while Mashiro protect the students inside the school building. Thanks to her recommendation, Y/N got promoted right after Lisa became a captain. She was happy about it, she was proud, but, she felt a pang of pain knowing her only family couldn't be with her. Ashido Kano, he was trapped in Hueco Mundo over 100 years ago, tried to save his comrades. Y/N would never able to go there without a certain permission, especially just to save one person. But, with her position now, she had hope to save him.

It was a wonderful morning in Soul Society, Y/N just wondering with 11th division vice captain and 3rd seat, Madarame and Ayasegawa, for morning patrol around Rukongai.

"So beautiful!", Ayasegawa exclaimed, looking up to the sky.

"What is?", Y/N asked without turning her head.

"I was gonna say the sky, but, of course, I'm way more beautiful.", he flipped his hair and smiled proudly.

"Hmm.. you are very beautiful, Ayasegawa-san.", Y/N hummed in agreement, she found Ayasegawa Yumichika is the most beautiful man in Soul Society, if not the world.

"Stop flattering him, Ashido.", Madarame nudged her.

"Ah, you got jealous, Ikkaku? Me having Y/N-chan attention? Why don't you compliment the vice captain too, Y/N-chan.", Ayasegawa slung his arm around Y/N's shoulder.

"Shut up! I don't need compliment from a little girl.", Madarame groaned and walked faster.

"You see, Y/N-chan, even though the sky is completely lost compare to my beauty, nothing beats yours.", Ayasegawa tilted her chin up and they were face to face inches away. Y/N blushed on how close they were, even though she knew he was joking, she still couldn't deny that Ayasegawa is really attractive. "How cute.", he released her and walked away. Y/N quickly regain her composure and followed her senpai's footsteps.

"Vice captain Madarame, can I ask you a question?", she quietly spoke behind Madarame.

"Ask away.", he replied, not turning to look at her.

"Over 100 years ago, during the 7th Kenpachi of 11th division, do you know anything about it?", she meekly asked.

"Nope, I was still in Rukongai with this dude, fighting people. Why'd you ask?", he tilted his head back.

"Ah, nothing, it's just, the former vice captain was a relative of mine, Ashido Kano? Do you guys know him?"

"We heard stories about him. He went to Hueco Mundo, tried to save his comrades, wasn't he? What a brave man, worthy of 11th division.", Ayasegawa chuckled.

"What's with him?", Madarame sensed a bad feeling on her predicament. "Don't try to do what you're not capable to do. I know you're strong, I also know about your ability, but, don't make quick judgment on what you should do next.", he said it sternly. Y/N hung her head low. Madarame saw right through her, he knew she was trying to save him.
