My family and I, plus Trinca, all take our seats to watch the game. I put my arm around Trinca so that I'll be reminded that I have a girlfriend, I love her and I'm happy. I can't have Mika Reyes, a girl who I have never even met personally, I'm not sure if she even knows I exist and we've never spoke online either, distract me from all of that.
At the back of my head, a voice says to me: "Really? You're happy with Trinca? Or are you just making yourself think that." Argh, shut up. I think
"Excuse me?" Trinca asks. I was so lost in thought, I didn't realize I was speaking my thoughts.
"No sorry babe, something just crossed my head" I said, pretending to look sad and frustrated about something. Trinca seemed to have bought it cause her face softened.
"Oh okay, so! Are you excited to watch the game?" she asks.
"Yep super, since this is the first time I get to watch the Lady Spikers play live" I answer.
"Lady Spikers? Or is it Mika that you're excited to see."
"Lady Spikers? That's what you're excited about? But they're the rival school." Trinca says, confused.
"Yeah I know but I just always wanted to see them live" I say, hoping that she won't have follow up questions.
"Huh" she says, grunting.
"Good afternoon everyone! I am Boom Gonzales and this is the DLSU Lady Spikers vs Ateneo Lady Eagles! Now let us put our hands together and give a round of applause for the Lady Eagles!" Boom says, with a voice full of excitement. The whole crowd cheers as they see the team walk in, they all start chanting the names of their favorites when they see them. Boom announces each name of the girls that's part of the first line up, the crowd cheers louder when they hear Alyssa Valdez's name. Dani taps me because the camera is about to view on us.
"Looks like the Ravena family is in the house supporting the Lady Eagles!" Boom says, and we all smile and wave at the camera.
"Let us now give our full support and give another round of applause but this time for the Lady Spikers!" The crowd goes wild, I see the girls walking in, all of them in a line. I try to look for Mika and then I see a tall and slim figure following the line. It's Mika Reyes. My vision goes the clearest it has ever been, Trinca says something to me but I don't hear it. My eyes is completely focused on Mika now, I've never seen her in person and seeing her now leaves me in awe. She's very tall, slim, cute and extremely beautiful. Damn.
The first set starts and it can't be anymore obvious who made the first score.
"And there goes the first hit of the game coming from the Taft Tower, Mika Reyes!" Boom announces.
"Mika's so good" Dani says, groaning in jealousy. We all continue to watch the game, it's still the first set but it's really intense, you can hear the crowd gasp at every move the players make. How loud they cheer for their favorites when they attack. I can't help but notice how viscous Mika is when she's near the net, it is not a good sign to the Lady Eagles if she's there. Her hands extend so far that the ball can barely pass through it, not to mention how tall she is which gives her a plus.
The set ends and DLSU takes the first set.
"Shucks, baka matalo tayo dito. Kakainis si Mika Reyes eh" Trinca says, annoyed.
"Hey grabe ka naman, ang galing niya eh, anong magagawa natin doon?" I reply to her.
"May sinabi ba ako na may gagawin tayo? Wala naman diba, at bat ang defensive mo sa kanya? Sila kaya yung kaaway" she said.
