Y/n was nervous about the idea of being in the survey corps. They haven't really done anything like this before. They liked the idea of fighting for justice, especially when they helped make it become reality.

y/n POV

I was so nervous. Of course, joining the survey corps would mean a lot of studying, practise and not a lot of free time. 

"What if I embarrass myself?", "What if I'm not good enough to be here?", I repeat in my head constantly worrying about everything. This was the biggest deal, and if I blew it, I will for sure run away into the ocean, maybe getting killed on the way. 

I didn't know what to expect at the Trainee Corps, but I remember having a goal of applying to Military Police Brigade, it's stupid because I know im not that strong, at all. Joining the survey crops was enough, and I'd rather have a less chance of dying anyway.

You didn't realise it was your turn to introduce yourself. You had forgotten you were in various lines standing straight waiting to introduce yourself as instructor Keith Shadis says its your turn.

He yelled at you and it made you jump since you were spaced out and didn't expect anything. 

"Look how pathetic you are, who are you??!" He yelled so everyone was able to hear. He did this with everyone, he wasn't trying to make us all depressed or something. I think his method kinda worked.

I reply with,                                                                                                                                                                                    

"Y/n L/n, from Shiganshina, sir!" you reply. 

Keith asks you why you're here, yelling everything he says. 

"I'm here to fight for humanity, and take back what is ours, sir!"

Keith looks at you with despise in his eyes and keeps walking to the other people in the trainee corps.

With all that out of the way, it was finally dinner time. the food wasn't anything special, but it was still good food. You had a piece of bread, a potato and bean soup. You saw that the commander, Erwin and the Captain, Levi, were also there having dinner. You expected the higher ups to have dinner somewhere else. (the captains and commanders)

Being the nicest person you are.. or.. trying to make it seem like it, you go up to Erwin and Levi and introduce yourself. You basically repeat what you had told Keith. You offer your hand and Erwin shakes it. Now, it's Levi's turn. You gesture your hand towards him, but he doesn't do anything. You awkwardly put your hand down and just staring at him. You thought it was kinda weird. You start up a conversation with Erwin, while Levi was just sipping his tea. After your conversation with Erwin, you turn to Levi one more time.

"Hi, My name is [y/n] and im from Shiganshina. Nice to meet you." You offer your hand out once more. 

There, he finally spoke. But something you prefer would've been something else. 

He said in a cold voice, "I don't have time to deal with you brats." as he continued sipping his tea. 

Erwin insisted Levi would show at least some welcome. Levi rolled his eyes at Erwin and said, "The names Levi, Captain Levi." But of course, you already knew that. you wanted to know more but was honestly too afraid to ask. You put your hand out once more. 

"I'm not shaking your filthy hands.", he said, still  sipping his tea.

It kind of made you embarrassed, but your hands didn't even look dirty at all. You stare at your hands for a while, dosing off again, and then just walk away.

"Levi, you should be more polite to our trainees next time." Erwin turned to Levi.

"Whatever, I hate being annoyed. And she was annoying." Levi said to Erwin. 

Erwin sighed and turned to the table to have the rest of his food. 

In the meantime, you went to your table to sit alone. You hadn't made any friends yet. But you had other things to focus on anyway. You were nervous about tomorrow, tomorrow is training but you were already stressed about how you would handle the manoeuvre gear. You ate slowly as you were thinking about it. 

You wondered how things will change since you're in training, and eventually in survey corps. 

..You also wonder if you're going to die early or not. You hate the thought of death. But, its kind of stupid in your opinion. Hating the thought of death but dedicating most of your years fighting titans. Big, ugly beasts destroying your peace.
