Blue Horse

Chapter 3

Fax decided to take the bus back to Danny's house because it was raining and Danny wouldn't get out for another hour. Lucky for Fax, he got to the bus right when it was about to leave so he hopped on and went straight to the back and sat down on the hard blue seat. He always sat in the back. Sometimes he went to sleep there when Danny was out of town and his parents were drunk and home. The bus finally reached Glenwood Street and Fax got off to take the short walk to Danny's house. He passed three raised ranches before reaching the desired one. 

"Do you need a ride home, or do you want to stay here another night?" Danny's mother asked from the top of the right staircase. It looked like she just got home because she was still in her black business pants and sport coat. 

"I'll take the ride home," Fax said after a long pause. She nodded and went to her bedroom and Fax to Danny's to get Luca. 

"Come here little guy," Fax said gently picking him up.  He seemed to be in new clothes.

"Take these," said Gale from behind him. She was holding out some of Danny's old baby clothes. 

"Thank you so much," Fax said taking the clothes from her.

"I've been meaning to give you these for the longest time but I hadn't been able to find them," She said looking at the dark carpet ground.

The two walked out into the garage, having to walk down both staircases and then to the right. Gale opened the door and they went into her gray BMW X5. When the short drive was over, Fax got out and started to walk the long gravel path up to the front door.

He was walking very slow, tearing up with every step. He was frightened for Luca. Gale stayed where she dropped them off and turned the car off to make sure they were safe. He finally reached the white front door and turned around to wave to Gale. Then he noticed something he didn't want to see at all. 

His father's car. 

Was across the street. 

Gale drove away while Fax was looking across. He then heard a scream from inside the house. It came from his mothers mouth. Fax burst the door open which made Luca cry from the noise. He ran up the stairs to see his father on top of his mother, she had bruises all over her face and her nose was bleeding all over the floor. His father and mother looked right at him and he ran into the back to put Luca in his crib. He carefully but swiftly put him in, and ran out locking the door. His father was yet again looking at him.

"You fucking bastard!" his father screamed. He slowly got up from sitting on his wife and walked toward Fax. Fax backed up into the wall looking so scared. His father kept walking, you could see his arms which were twice the size of Fax's head and he was about five inches taller than Fax. He crossed his green eyes and too Fax's surprise, he went into Luca's room, busting the door open.

"NO DAD," Fax screamed tears pouring down his face. He looked to his mother who was now passed out right where she was being beat and then he ran into Lucas' bedroom. He saw that his father was holding Luca by the foot upside down. The child let out an ear piercing scream and the terrible person holding him slapped him across the face as hard as he could.

"YOU FUCKING MONSTER PUT HIM DOWN!" Fax yelled and his father only chuckled and walked over to the window. Fax ran over to him and all he did was punch him in the face knocking him unconscious.

Fax woke up in the exact same place with bruises all over his face, two black eyes, and a bloody nose.

"Luca?" he said. He got up to go look over into the wooden crib, but he went right back on the ground with a moan. His father broke his left leg. A piercing pain went through his body and he let out a loud groan in pain. His eyes teared up and he looked into his pocket to try to find his phone. It wasn't there.
