My brother George, more commonly known on the internet as Georgenotfound, has always taught me that it is not ok to have any kind of relationship with his friends other than just friendship.

He always told me it was because he knew how his friends acted. I knew that wasn't the case. From day one, I've always thought it was because he would have been protective, and boy was I right.

It started on a Wednesday morning, I remember waking up to George screaming at his friends. We shared an apartment together, seeing as I was quite a few years behind him and we were going to the same college.

Anyways, he was yelling at his friends and as I normally did, I rolled over and banged on the wall that connected our rooms. He knows that's my way of saying quiet down I'm trying to sleep.

"Sorry!" I heard him yell back in response as he started to quiet down.

I sighed and rolled back over trying to fall asleep again. I stayed like that for 20 minutes and couldn't fall back asleep.

"Thanks George." I muttered under my breath as I got up to go to the bathroom.

After I did my thing in the bathroom, I went to Georges room to ask if he's had anything to eat yet, seeing as it was 9 AM in the morning.

I opened the door and saw he was still playing Minecraft with his friends. I went up to him and tapped him on the shoulder. He muted his mic and turned around.

"Do you want anything to eat?" I proceeded to ask.

"Uhm, I haven't had anything to eat yet today so yes please." He responded in a quiet voice.

"Oki" I responded and spun on my heel to turn out the door.

Something stopped me midway. A voice. It was coming from Georges headset. It was very faint but I could still somewhat hear it.

"George who was that?"

"What do you mean?" George responded.

"You were unmuted dude. "

"I thought I was muted sorry."

"Don't avoid the question!" The voice said with a loud laugh at the end.

"It was just my sister!" He said giving up.

"She's younger than you and she's making breakfast for you?" The voice said, once again letting out a loud laugh.

This is where I decided to turn around and not listen to their conversation anymore. I went out to the kitchen and pulled out pans, a pack of bacon, 4 eggs, and some bread.

I than proceeded to make bacon, eggs, and toast.

Once it was all finished I put it on a plate and sprinkled a bit of salt and pepper on it and walked to Georges room.

"Thanks." He said as he set his headset down and logged out to eat.

I was about to walk out when he suddenly said,

"My friend wants to play Minecraft with you later. Do you remember what the rule is?" He questioned whilst shoveling a fork full of eggs in to his mouth.

"Yes I know the rule George." I said unimpressed and quite annoyed.

"Ok Ok Ok! I'm just making sure!" He says in defense.

"I'll give you his gamer tag and you guys can play together later." He continued.

"Cool." I said with no emotion in my voice as I walked out and kind of slammed the door.

I went and proceeded to eat my own food. After I was done with that I did the dishes and plopped down on the couch.

I didn't move, I just looked up at the ceiling and got lost in my thoughts.

Why would he not let me having any kind of relationship with his friends?

I decided to pull out my phone and check Instagram for like the second time that week. I was scrolling through my DMs from my brothers fans. Not many people knew George even had a sister, but the ones that did were blowing up my DMs, searching for some type of validation.

A lot of them were 'How many likes on TikTok for you to follow me?', 'Omg you're so pretty. 'Can you tell George I said hi?', or even a few death threats and people demanding we know where we live. I ignored those ones.

The only ones I answered were the kindest messages. Some of them it was too obvious that they just wanted someone semi popular to talk to and some of them just looked like they just wanted to be friends. There was this one message that caught my attention.

Skylar.Fielxxx

"Hey, not quite sure why I'm sending you this but out of all the people I know you're the most likely to respond. My name is Skylar and I'm 16 years old. I have no friends and am going through a rough time right now. My parents have been fighting non-stop and it's come to the point where I can't even stand to be in the same house as them. I want to stay at a friends house for a little and see what a normal functioning family looks like. Anyways, not the point. The point is, I just need someone to talk to, and would really appreciate it if you would respond and we could have a normal conversation."

My fingers hovered over the screen thinking of what to say before typing. I sat there in shock. Finally I typed out,

"Hi! I'm really sorry to hear that you're going through all that :( I hope I responded in time before anything happened or you did anything irrational. I do have one question, do you have any siblings?"

After sitting for a while staring at my sent message, I exited out of the chat and closed Instagram. The time in front of my face said 12:48 PM. I was surprised, I must've been scrolling on Insta for quite a while. I got up and decided to get dressed.

Standing at my closet door, my eyes skimmed the options of clothing. My eyes settled on a pair of black leggings and a one shoulder light pink crop top. I did nothing to my hair other than brush it. I realized I forgot my phone outside on the living room couch so I went to retrieve it.

As I was walking past George's room to my room, George called my name.

"Y/N is that you?"

"Yea what's up?" I responded.

"My friend wants to play Minecraft with you now." He said sounding rather disappointed.

I responded with nothing but a grumpy look on my face as I pushed open his creaky door.

He turned around in his chair and passed me the headset. I took it and sat down in his place.

"I'm just gunna sit here on my phone." He said plopping into his beanbag chair taking out his phone.

I adjusted the headphones to where they fit me perfectly. As soon as I do so, I hear a loud yelling from the other side. I jumped a little and turned to George.

"Jesus how do I turn down this bitch?" I said taking the headset off. The loud laugh started up again.

"The excuse for a man on the other side or the headset?" He said laughing.

"Both!" I almost yelled.

The laugh at the other side of the headset was almost ten times louder now.

Even with the headset off my head, I could still hear the laughing.

George got up laughing and turned it down.

"Thank you." I said as he was walking back to his beanbag chair. He gave me a nod.

I put the headphones on again and prepared myself for a long hour or two.
