Therapy.
Something for 'insane people' according to mom.
Did Saiki think he was insane?
Mom was always right!
Always right.
——
"Hey mama! I was wondering if I could..", the teen trailed off as his mother looked at him with a glare.
"What is it now Shun?" She crossed her arms and looked at him with a raised eyebrow.
"I...do you remember Saiki?"
"The pink haired genius?" She asked, sparkles in her eyes. "Yes, what about him?"
"He...I was wondering if I could go to his funeral", Kaidou said, fear and sadness in his eyes.
"His funeral? He's dead?" The mother asked, curiosity in her eyes.
"I yeah...I just wanted to go to his funeral".
"Why did he die?" She asked. Kaidou gulped and responded.
"Uh, he...killed...himself".
"Oh, well, Shun, you shouldn't have been around a mentally ill person, who knows what he could've done to you", she said as she hugged him. "I should've noticed! He seemed odd from the start".
"Mom-".
"Don't worry, Shun. The world is better off without those sad sad people", she smiled at him as she patted his head.
"Yeah, you're right, mom".
——
The teen made his way to his school, almost sulking the way there.
"Hey, Shun", Kuboyasu greeted him, quieter than usual.
"Hey, Aren".
"So, are you going to the funeral?"
"...no, sorry".
The other teen seemed to pause at the reply.
"I-you're not?!" He looked at the shorter teen incredulously. "What, did your mommy say no?" He glared at the other.
"No, I mean yes".
The purple haired boy glared before marching off.
——
"Nendou, what're you doing?"
"I'm waiting for buddy!" The idiot said. Kaidou looked at the teen, almost offended by his remarks.
"He's..dead. He's gone. He chose the cowardly way out!" He said as he rubbed his eyes, tears were already forming.
"Dead? Pfft, you're just exaggerating punk".
"Fine, you dumb idiot", Kaidou said as he made his way to his house.
——
"Shun, make sure to call me, okay?"
"Yeah mom. Don't worry".
——
"Hello, Kaidou Shun, right?"
"Yeah. You're doctor Garcia right?"
——
The man made his way to the grave.
"Hey, Saiki", Kaidou said, almost bitterly. "This visit is long overdue, isn't it?"
Silence.
"Hm, well, I went to therapy like you said. I'm also considering becoming a therapist, they're really helpful", Kaidou remarked as he sat down.
"Well, I hope you're happy. I mean, you weren't happy here obviously", Kaidou chuckled sadly as he took his book from his bag.
"Well, if being a therapist doesn't work out. I think being an author would", Kaidou opened the book.
"Well, I'll start. 'The teen ran and ran through the streets, trying to find somewhere to take shelter from the rain..'".
——
Demons.
Illusions.
Whatever.
As long as he's helping and not being a coward, he's happy.
Happy.
Hm, isn't that what Saiki would've wanted?
