Firstly, I am not affiliated with the Marvel Comic Universe, and I do not claim ownership of any of its characters.

Dangerous Games (formerly known as Stockholm Syndrome) is set in an Alternate Universe, I say AU because, while it behaves like a headcanon sometimes, and there are elements of the canon within the story, there is no real timeline for the sequence of events that take place. Even I am not sure where this would fit in perfectly in the canon timeline...or...both canon timelines since Endgame happened. There is a tentative explanation for when this happens later on in the story, but I'll be honest, even that isn't perfect. The only way this *fits* is if it is in its own, unique universe, albeit still very similar to the canon.

This is a little dark. This is Loki before his redemption. I wanted to emphasize that he was going through physical and emotional trauma and his actions were reflecting that.

This is also unlike any fanfiction I've ever written before. If you've read any of my other works, I'm sure you'll see why.

If you'd like something a little...lighter...check out my other Loki fanfiction (written 3 years ago, it ain't perfect) called A Very Unlikely Tale.

I'll try and post a generic content warning before any chapters that are particularly violent or disturbing. Actually, you can probably assume that most of the chapters will have some kind of more sensitive content in them, but I'll try and warn you if something is worse than usual.

I won't get my feelings hurt if you don't enjoy this type of story, and don't get past chapter 1. Homicidal Loki isn't everyone's cup of tea!

If you got here before this disclaimer was written, I apologize. I was actually working on the ending, (don't worry, I still have SEVERAL chapters to write before we get there, I just know where I'm going so I wanted to write it down before I lost it) and I realized that it might be smart to warn people about the events that may take place.

There is abuse, there is injury, there's a touch of gore, among other sensitive subjects.

I plan on creating an afterword to follow the story's final chapter, where I'll explain more about why I wrote the way I did, techniques, etc.

If I haven't scared you off by now, I'm thrilled. Please enjoy,

Dangerous Games.
