"Mom! Let's go pick up Jade, c'mon, c'mon!" I yell from the top of the stairs, storming down in excitement.
"Okay, okay, calm down. Get waters and snacks if we're gonna be waiting for so long." She replies sounding a bit annoyed.
"I can't calm down, haven't you figured that out yet?!?! And I know. And it won't be that long. Just like 7 hours..." I reply with excitement changing into a 'Don't hurt me' voice.
"I can't believe I'm doing this..." Mom said under her breath.
"I'm going to the car!" I said wanting to leave.
I got into the car and looked in the very back seat to see the 2 signs I'd made for the concert. Mom plopped into the car shortly after. She started the car and I put on the Take Me Home CD. I switched it to Back For You and sang along loudly.
We pulled into Jade's driveway a few minutes later, seeing her mother working in the flower bed. She notices us aand turns around.
"Oh. Hey guys! Thanks for inviting Jade. I'm sure you will have a blast!" She says.
In my head I'm thinking, "Who says 'Have a blast' anymore?" But instead I say, "I know me will! Thanks for letting her come, Mrs.Lerence."
"No problem, hun," she says with a sweet smile, "Jade should be out in a minute."
A few seconds later, sure enough, Jade comes running out of the house. "I'm coming! Let's go!" she yells.
I sing to finish off what it reminds me of, "Crazy! Crazy! Crazy till we see the sun! I know we only met but lets pretend its love!"
Jade laughs. And while getting in the car says, "Bye, mom!"
"Bye Kathryn! We'll be sure to keep Jade hydrated!" Mom says with a laugh.
"I made signs for the concert. They're in the back! I'll get them." I said to break the quietness. Although I'm not sure why we're quiet, we're freaking out on the inside.
Jade nodded and I got the purple sign with the letters saying "Thank you for everything" in neon yellow letters next to a white heart. I handed the it to Jade as she looked at it and smiled.
I reached back for the other one that is bright pink, says "I want you to rock me, boys!" in black letters. And both of them have battery powered lights on the edges. I set the sign in my lap and Jade looks over to read it.
I whisper to Jade, "I'm not sure what mom will think about this one. You know.. the words."
"She'll get over it." she whispered with a slight laugh.
Mother looks in the mirror to look at us and says "We'll be there in about forty-five minutes. Maybe an hour... if we don't get lost."
Jade and I both yelled "We better not!"
She looked back with a quick smile.
Jade looked at me and said curiously, "Will the boys even be able to see the signs from that far?"
I pause and eventually say, "Yeah.. maybe... probably not. Oh well!"
The rest of the time we just sing to Take Me Home very loudly and change up the words like we imagine Harry would do at the concert.
