LUMINOUS LIGHTS SPARKLED OUTSIDE THE HOTEL, TWINKLING DOWN. A blue haze spread among the background, fireworks already being blasted. Soft chatter bubbled in every corner, excitement on the tip of their tongues as they ran in and out. The pungent fragrant scent of nail polish following, fresh as the event on their minds.Nose scrunched at the odor as they passed, she tugged her space-themed denim jacket closer, the goosebumps on her skin reminding her of the frigid cool air. Gianna Gracen was sprawled out on the ebony cushions, black laced boots on a table. Opened books sat near her, wires on top of them protruding from her laptop. She was nose deep in her designs, eyes lightening up as she wrote messily on the sticky notes around the laptop.
Multiple snaps brought her out of her daze. Blinking in confusion, she looked up, glowing purple headphones falling at her neck. A dark haired teenager stood in front of her, crisp black leather jacket snug on him, gazing at her.
"I, uh, asked if your parents work at Helios." At her eyebrows furrowing in confusion, he gestured to the sticky note on her face that read, "Mom works at Helios Industries." She quickly peeled it off, throwing it away.
"Yeah, I'm celebrating tonight by getting away from my mom." He lightly smiled.
"Do your parents work here?" she inquired, moving her stuff, patting the seat next to her.
He smirked, sitting down. "They have too, I mean, my dad kind of owns the entire company, so...."
His smirk widened at Gianna's awestruck expression, "Your dads the Griffin Combes? Like, not a homeless man who has the same name, actually him?"
"Yes, actually him." Gianna involuntarily squealed. "I'm getting the vibe you like him more than me."
"Cause I do-don't give me a look, you asked!"
"You're gonna choose him over his smarter, virile, intelligent son? Did I mention smart?" Elliot gestured to himself, confidence showering over him as he strangely became more comfortable with the conversation.
"Ok, Sid the science kid." Gianna looked amused, a lazy smirk playing upon her lips. "For someone so smart, you forgot the fact that everyone knows who he is, and I don't even know your name."
"I'll tell you if you buy me candy." Elliot gestures towards the vending machine.
"I'll stick to calling you Sid." He rose his eyebrows, pointing again, and Gianna rolled her eyes, pulling out money from her black jeans. She held it out to him. "Get me some candy."
"What kind?" "Surprise me. But nothing gross." He nodded, getting up, eyes twinkling. Gianna furrowed her eyebrows when he turned back around. "Elliot, my names Elliot."
"Gianna Gracen. Now go before I die of candy starvation!" He laughed, shaking his head leaving.
Gianna's head snapped towards her phone dinging, and she smiled at her friends messages. One message caught her eye and she took a deep breath, shutting off her phone trying to calm herself. She could see Elliot walking back from the distance, and she felt slightly better. Her mother loves to smother her even if it hurt her and she wouldn't let it ruin the night she can hang out with her friends.
A/N: I'm sorry for the wait! I procrastinated hard, but with the help of my best friend and trying hard on this, here it is! I hope you love it, and I would love to here any criticisms you have! Have a lovely day!
