Ennoshita arrived early to practice and proceeded to go inside the club room. He sighed. He would have to deal with Tanaka simping and talking about how much he loves Kiyoko. It hurt before, but now it's going to hurt even more than it did yesterday, or last year. He was facing away from the door, and jumped a little when he heard the door open. He didn't turn around in hopes of not seeing Tanaka, and to his relief, it was only Nishinoya.

"Bro are you okay?" Nishinoya asked after seeing his friend startled from behind.

"Hmm? Oh, yeah I'm okay I guess I was just zoning out and didn't expect the door to open," Ennoshita responded.

"Oh okay," Noya said smiling, and walking inside. "By the way, are you feeling any better?"

Ennoshita didn't know what to say. "Yes thank you for asking," he said, after a few minutes of thinking. Of course he wasn't feeling better. He was in pain, and masking it only made it difficult.

. . .

Now came time for the real challenge. Tanaka walked in late to practice, and started to flirt with Kiyoko. Ennoshita looked over, and saw that Kiyoko wasn't ignoring him, and in fact started to converse with him. And his stupid little heart couldn't take it. He felt like he had to throw up, but he knew he couldn't cough flower petals in front of his team mates, especially not Tanaka. But the feeling was too overwhelming, and out came vibrant orange petals. He quickly put a hand to his mouth and tried to hide the petals to the best of his ability.

"Are you okay?" Daichi asked while walking up to Ennoshita and handing him water.

Ennoshita took the water and tried his best to hide the petals, "Yeah I'm okay, it just came out of nowhere."

Daichi smiled and walked away glad to see Ennoshita was feeling okay. Ennoshita let out a sigh of relief that no one saw any petals. At least he thought no one saw any petals. However, Noya did see, but he didn't want to question Ennoshita. At least not yet.

. . .

Luckily for Ennoshita, as the rest of the year painfully went by, he was able to hide the flowers from not only his teammates, but also his family. However, the pain was getting somewhat worse from when he originally contracted the disease. He read that the disease only lasted for a couple weeks to a few months at most, but somehow he was still here. Still trying to breath and still having to listen to Tanaka go on and on about Kiyoko.

During break, he spent his days coughing up flowers and trying to tell himself that he would be over Tanaka the next day. He knew what he was telling himself wasn't true, but the sense of false hope comforted him.
