Jan walked into the back of Doodah. There he was. Red and black flannel, lazily holding his Café Latte, texting.
“Uh… hi..?” Jan said with uncertainty in his voice.“Oh, hey. Jan isn’t it?” He said uncaringly, taking another sip of his Café Latte.
“Uh yeah. Your cousin showed me back here.” Jan said, shifting uncomfortably.
“Uhuh. Yeah I usually hang back here whenever I have free time. Then Jasmin comes back and we uhh.. learn skateboarding tricks… if you know what I mean.” David smirks, making Jan more uncomfortable.
“Ahaha…. I know what you mean.”
“So what did you come back here for?” David spoke again, breaking the awkward silence.
“Uhh….” Jan trailed off, not knowing what to say.
“Uhhhh…???” David said unknowingly.
“Can you teach me how to speak chinese????”
—
whoah. why did that come out. i’m such a freaking idiot. why did i say that.
“Uhhh… I don’t even speak chinese.” David says confusedly.
“Oh ahah…”“Oh, do you have your laptop with you? I wanna show you my math homework. I heard you’re good at math.” David says.
“Asians these days.” Jan mutters quietly while pulling out his laptop.
“Oh, mind if I charge my phone in your laptop? I’m almost out of battery.”“Sure! No problem.” Jan replies.
“DAVIIIIID! I need help.” David’s cousin calls from outside.
“Coming!” David yells back.
That’s what she said. Jan thinks.
“Not to you.” David says back while he walks out the door.
“Did I say that out loud???” Jan says.
“Yep.”
—
“Sorry, I need to go help my cousin unload boxes from outside. Will you be okay for an hour?”
“Yeah sure.” Jan replies.
On Jans computer, a message popped up.
“Would you like to import everything in David’s Nokia Lumia onto Jan’s Macbook Pro?”
Jan thought about it.
What should he do?
