IMPOSTER

The red light blinked in the hallways of our little spaceship. The siren blared a wailing cry for our attention. We all rushed to the reactor.

"What the hell? Someone sabotaged the reactor!" Mokii looked over the codes in the admin panel. Everything on her screen was blinking red, I failed to see how she was able to understand what she was seeing, "Torbin, Andromeda, I need you two to touch those two panels on the wall at the same time. It'll scan your paws and allow the reactor to override!" The large bear took the left side and I walked over to the right. Torbin gave me a little nod and we both got the green light. We did it! Mokii did the rest on her tablet, and soon the noise stopped. It was a moment to celebrate that we didn't all explode into space, but we still had a problem on our hands.

"Someone set this up?" I turned to Mokii and Torbin. They both looked over things on their tablets. They were the admins of this ship.

"It would seem like it," I was confused though. There were six of us on this ship.

"Where are the others? I got here from Navigation pretty quick. There's no way others wouldn't get here too!" I may just be a simple dog, but I know the crew can get here.

"That's a good question," Torbin chimed in, "We could go to security across the way and see what's up?" He was rather chill. They both were considering the situation. I guess you have to be if you run a whole ship.

It was just across the hallway, but everything felt ominous. Mokii thumbed through the cameras until we saw a brown boot. Stanlii! We rushed to Admin, but it was far too late.

"You stay out here!" Torbin and Mokii went in. They didn't want me exposed to what they had to endure. I waited patiently, nothing to be heard but the hum of the ship.

A vent creaked in the distance. I turned my head to see a black suit pull itself from the opening. I pressed my back against the wall, knocking on the door for them to come out. Luckily, they both came just in time. I could hear the boots tap along the floors closer towards me.

"What's wrong?" Mokii screamed! The black suit had turned the corner with blood on their suit. I took off running, before turning around to watch Torbin tackling the person to the ground.

That had to have been the scariest moment of my life. I didn't watch when they "ejected" him. I couldn't imagine being shot into space and being left there. We mourned the two we lost, and Mokii set up a memorial in the cafeteria. We will always remember them, but the mission goes on. Especially after this long, might as well see what this foretold Earth-like planet was all about.
