"Harry.... where the hell are we?" Arya groaned as she sat up, her head absolutely pounding from the fall. One minute she had been in the maze, fighting off a multitude of obstacles that seemed as if they were trying to kill her. The next, she had her hand on Harry's wrist, zooming with him as he held on to the triwizard cup. And now, she was in what looked like a dimly lit graveyard. No, didn't look like it, that's exactly where she was.
"Don't know.." Harry all but whispered as he walked through the graveyard with her.
"Maybe it's part of our task." She sighed. She wouldn't have been surprised if it had been. The triwizard tournament had been full of surprises.
"Maybe it...." Harry stopped as he read a tombstone next to him. "Arya, go back to the cup."
"Why would i-" she was stopped by the sound of someone coming out of a grand tomb, he was carrying what looked like a baby in his arms. Harry instantly stepped back, grabbing at his head as if he were in excruciating pain.
"Kill the spare" the baby like creature groaned, and the man instantly pointed his wand at Arya, uttering the killing curse.
But Arya was quicker than he was. She quickly used her wand to flick a giant rock so that it was his instead of her. The rock shattered in its blow. "Expelliarmus!" She cast quickly, but the man knocked it away with a smirk.
He moved to preform another spell but the baby stopped him. "No!" He hissed. "Trap her! This one may prove useful."
Before she knew if, ropes had formed around her body, pulling her limbs together so she could barely move. Nearly knocked her off of her feet. She looked over at Harry, who was now locked against a stone grim reaper statue. He looked back at her and quickly mouthed 'I'm so sorry'.
Harry had been one of her best friends. He took her in when the other Slytherins started making fun of her for being a half blood. He told her that she could hang out with him from now on and ignore the others. She did exactly that. The last four year she had grown close with the golden trio, even helping them to figure out information at times, though they would never tell her what any of it was for. She never cared to ask really, knowing whatever it was, she most likely would rather remain ignorant on its subject.
The man began brewing a spell. He cut off his own hand at one pin to which made Arya want to throw up. She hated the sight of blood. Then he did something strange. He threw the baby, which obviously wasn't a baby into the pot, standing back as it started to mold into a full grown serpent like man before her very eyes.
"Arya... whatever happens... I'm sorry" Harry groaned as the pain in his head became even more unbearable for him. He was nearly screaming now. Arya felt helpless. She wanted so badly to stop whatever was happening. To help Harry and put an end to all the awful things that were happening. She squirmed in the ropes, trying anything she could to get loose. Her hand slipped out of one of the ropes bearings and she let out a sigh of relief. If she could get out without whatever that thing in front of her was, she might be able to help her friend.
"Harry Potter... the boy who lived.." the man smirked as he walked towards him. His eye caught Arya's and he smirked. Something about the man made her stomach turn. He walked towards her and his claw like nail hooked her chin, pulling her head up to look at him. "Do you know who I am my dear?"
His breath smelled revolting and his teeth looked as though they hadn't been brushed in centuries. Not to mention he had the nose of a snake, two slits to breath out of and nothing else.
Arya shook her head. The man only smiled wider. "I am your savior. I will be the one to guide you into prosperity. If you show me allegiance, that is."
"Voldemort." Harry struggled to get out.
Arya's eyes turned wide. Voldemort. He was back. Harry had said he believed he would be back soon. But to be in his presence... well it only made Arya want to wiggle free sooner.
"My child..." he breathed. "Tell me, are you excited to see me kill Harry Potter." He smirked.
Arya looked over to Harry and smirked widely. "Very much so." She lied, knowing fully well the only way to make him leave her alone was to lie to him. "I've been waiting for this day, my lord." She looked back to Voldemort. "It is so good to see your back, in all your glory."
Voldemort smiled at that and finally took his nail out of the hook of her chin. "Good to be back. And good, to finally see the day where Harry Potter will meet his end. Never again, will my power be questioned. Never again will anyone get in my way." He moved over to Harry. "Your mother isn't here anymore Potter. I can touch you now."
His finger outstretched to reach Harry's forehead. When he touched him Harry writhed in pain, his whole body seizing up in agony. He let out a loud scream and Arya took the opportunity to wiggle the last of her limbs free from the ropes. She ran behind a tomb and watched as the scene between Harry and Voldemort played out. Voldemort tried striking Harry a few times before Harry ran to hide, finding Arya in the same hiding place.
"You have to go out there." She said flatly, looking to Harry.
"Are you mad?" Harry asked, flustered as Voldemort kept calling out for him. "He's going to kill me!"
Arya grabbed Harry by the arm and pulled him in close to her, giving him a tight hug. "I have a plan" she whispered. "Go and distract him. When the time is right, I will be there." She kissed his cheek softly and offered him a soft smile as they pulled away from the hug. "You've got this."
Harry raised a brow at her "but what are you going to-"
"Harry James Potter. Have you ever known me to let you down?"
"No but.."
"No buts. Go." She said, almost shoving him back out into the action.
Harry's demeanor changed. He looked confident, strong, exactly like the man Arya knew him to be. Arya looked around her, desperately searching for the one thing she needed to make her plan work. In a corner by a grand grave she spotted it. The light blue glow of the triwizard cup. She made her way over to it quickly.
"Wingardium Leviosa." She all but whispered the spell, lifting the cup up with it. She looked back at Harry, who was in a standoff with Voldemort. Her breath almost hitched as she watched the light from their wands clash together. She had never seen anything like it. A green smoke like forcefield came around them, creating a barrier they couldn't get through. Harry had to get out of there, some how some way, or her plan would never work.
She led the cup towards the duel. Harry looked weak. He wouldn't last much longer. "Harry!" She called out, earning her a look from both him and Voldemort as they battled. "Run!" She motioned to the cup. Harry shook his head. Knowing if he ran, he would be leaving her behind. She knew what that meant to. If she was left here, she would die, but that was a price she was more than willing to pay.
Suddenly, blue lights burst out of Voldemorts wand and surrounded Harry. For moment it seemed like he was talking to the light, but that couldn't be right. Could it?
Before she knew it, Harry had broken off the spell and was sprinting to her and the cup. "Arya! Come on!" He yelled.
"There's no time!" She screamed. She was watching Voldemort, who seemed to be preparing to attack Harry once again.
She looked up at Harry who was mere inches from the cup. "Tell everyone I love them.." she sighed, a soft tear trickling down her cheek. She quickly used her wand to flick the cup at Harry, who caught it quickly and vanished before her very eyes. When she looked back up all she could see was him. Voldemort.
