You stood there watching Elizabeth and Chloe. The glow in the woman's eyes as she held her granddaughter was amazing. The child was cooing, almost like she'd known the older woman all her life. She was smiling, the lack of teeth making that more adorable. Elizabeth looked over at you, whispering a thank you. You just gave a short nod, as she slowly exited the building.

"So we're just going to let her go." Hank said, turning in his chair.

"There isn't much we can do. We can't tie the murder to her, even with the DNA. And it wouldn't be right to arrest her when we know she's innocent." Nick said, clicking on his keyboard.

" I'm sure her lovely daughter didn't stick around after lopping off the head of that woman. She could be long gone. As far as we know, this case is closed." He finished. You smiled. Even though Jason died, at least his daughter was safely with his family. And knowing the woman responsible for his death was dead, let's just say , you weren't going to lose any sleep over that.

"I'd like to think we had a full day. If you gentlemen will excuse me, I think I'll head home and get some much needed rest."

"(Y/N)." you stopped at Nick's call. "Is there something going on with you? You've been a little on edge and weary." You were stunned he picked up on it.

"You're not the only one skilled at reading body language. I am a detective."

"Oh, sometimes I forget." He grinned. "I'm just saying, if you need to talk, we're right here."

"Thanks, I appreciate it. ." You did want to talk, just not about Alexander, at least not yet. It was comforting, knowing they had your back.

"Well, I'll see you tomorrow." with a wave you were gone. Back to your apartment. You just hoped you wouldn't be having anymore dreams about Alexander.

Dropping the keys on your table, you barely made it fully passed the living room before there was a knock on the door. You groaned, heading back through the living room and opening the door a bit aggressively. The man standing on the other side wore a weak smile.

"S-Shane.."

"I'm sorry to just drop by like this, but I feel like we need to talk. " you took a step to the side to let him in.

"Yeah sure of course come in." You closed the door, taking a breath. This was a conversation you'd been dreading. With all that was going on, you hoped it would have kept you from broaching the topic that was about to arise.

"I know why you've been avoiding me. " you sighed. Of course you were avoiding him. How were you supposed to tell him that you were in love with someone else.

"It's about that man from before." you shifted on your legs.

"Shane..it isn't that easy. I should have been honest with you from the very beginning, maybe if I was you wouldn't have gotten hurt." He didn't look very pleased, you could tell he must have already figured out what you were going to say.

"I get why you think you have to be with him (Y/N). It didn't take a genius to figure it out." your brows knitted together.

"What are you talking about?"

"Come on, don't pretend that you don't know. I understand your need to hide it. It's never easy, admitting this about yourself to people. I thought with me it would be different since we're the same." This was going in a completely different direction. And now you were a little unnerved. If he was thinking what you thought he was, then things could go south pretty fast.

"Listen to me Shane, this isn't what you may think."

"At least give me a little credit (Y/N). Did you really think I couldn't smell it. You're wesen, a , just like that guy. I don't care if we're different (Y/N), and I honestly thought you wouldn't either."

Oh how right he was about being different. "That's not the problem here Shane. I'm not a wesen." This time he looked a bit angrier. Probably because he thought you were lying.

"You have to believe me it's a lot more complicated than that."

"Are you really going to make me prove it (Y/N)." before you could answer he woge, and when he looked back at you. The stare of terror was almost instant. He changed, backing into the door.

"Oh God y-you're a..."

"Shane please just-"

He grabbed the knob of the door, rushing out of your house in record time. You just stood there, not really sure what to feel. You may not have been in love with Shane, but you still cared about him. And the fact that he bolted the moment he realized what you were, it stung. You realized at that point that Alexander was right. He could have done the same when he found out you were a Grimm. Hell, he could have straight out attacked you. But Alexander continued to pursue you. At one point you told your self it was the stupid pheromones, but that wore off ages ago.

"So why did he still chase after me.." That was a pretty good question.
