Chapter Two- A date and two strangers
Sleep was out of the question for the night as my brain wouldn't stop playing the ever broken record of the fire. "Baby brothers..." I mumbled as I buried my tear stained face deeper into the pillow. They're constant screams echoed inside my head, keeping my tired eyes from shutting. I continued my soft sobbing until my door opened and I heard a heavy sigh along with heavy footsteps. "I figured he'd put you here, come we have things to do this morning." I didn't move, too lost in my thoughts to really comprehend what he was saying. I heard him mumble something under his breath before his footsteps approached the side of my bed. "Look, I understand you might be going through very troubling emotions right now that I don't really comprehend. But, there is only one way to go now, and that's forward. So please, get out of this room and let's start moving."
I finally looked up at William, my stained face and puffy eyes locked onto his blank phosphorescent ones. "They're really gone?" I asked softly. He didn't answer, staring at me with a tinge of something in his eyes I couldn't place my hand on, my assumption being pity. I smiled and gave a short laugh "I guess that's my answer..." I smiled, wiping the fresher tears that started falling. "Okay, let's go then Mr. Spears." He offered me his hand to stand, in which I grabbed and stood. With that I walked with the Grim Reaper into the light outside of my dark room.
(This is a time skip to the Red Butler Arc with Grell and Madam Red. This is after she's went through her training (so it's been about 2 years or so going off anime and manga time) she is now a reaper.))
Two years have passed so quickly. I thought as I walked through the halls of the reaper association. My scythe, which was just a plain gardening scythe, hung off my back. It was a gift from Undertaker, and with some sweet talking to William I was able to get it approved. It helps though I was the top of my class at everything, with everyone's training I was able to rise to the top quickly. I continued my walk to Williams office, knocking a short rhythm on his door when I arrived. "Come in." I heard a short reply and I opened the door to be greeted by said man being surrounded by paper. "Good afternoon sir, looks like you have your hands full." He grumbled and took off his spectacles to massage the sides of his head. "Great observation Phantomhive-" he rolled his eyes "Grell is being a nuisance again and trying to find that fool is becoming a greater hassle than I thought!"
I put my hand over my mouth to hide the small smirk making its way across my lips. Watching William go into meltdown mode is always amusing, unless of course it's because of me and I'm the one being lectured. "I see that snide smirk (y/n). Did you come in here to make fun of me or give me more information about the idiot?" I straitened myself out and quickly wiped the smirk off my face. "I have no new information sir, the only thing I could tie him to was the strings of murders taking place." I placed my research papers down in front of him as he glanced over them. He huffed, obviously annoyed "I figured with you and that buffoon being so close you'd have more information." I shook my head "no sir, he left without a trace and hasn't said a word to me since. Only two people here to talk to now are your grumpy gloriousness and Knox."
