It's a quiet village today, the people of Congo are resting and they have done their work. Alas, there is something different today, a child is born, but. not just any child, no this is a unique child. A forbidden love sprouted a new life. See, this child's mother lives in the village on Congo but her father, a white man, is an Italian man from America. His whole life is back at his home in America and they do not know about this woman. He faces a choice, leave and live the life of a privileged white man, or spend the rest of his days with his new daughter and the love of his life, but be shamed by his family. "Oh, isn't she beautiful." says the. new mother holding her baby staring at her in awe. Stuck in the jungle of his mind the father responds, "oh, um,  yes. yes."  He paces the floor as. his mind tears itself apart. Although he got married to this woman in a how moment of pure young love that doesn't know or care what the future hold. He has made his decision.

Finally looking at his new daughter he states, "Sophie."

"what?" the woman says looking up at him.

"That shall be her name. It's my mothers name." he says still staring at the child.

"alrighty then, welcome to the world Sophie." The mother says cooing and her baby. Sophie extends hey short chubby arms out to her mother, and grabs her curls. Her mother had beautiful, big, and curly hair that her husband admired very much.

Such an innocent soul that has not yet been touches by the cold dark hands of reality. All she knows is her mother and father, and not yet what the world means.

*TIME SKIP FIVE YEARS LATER*

Wind through her curls, the crunch of leaves at her feet, and the distant yelling of her best friend who just happens to be an ape like creature. Though she has just met this strange creature today, it is the only thing who has ever been kind to her, so to this little five year old girl, that was a best friend.

"HAHA YOU CAN'T CATCH ME" yells out the little girl. Though her newest friend is not able to talk, she feels that she understands. As she falls to the floor in a laughing fit the creature comes and scopes her up. The creature is rather young itself so it's difficult to pick up a human. "You, sir, I must know, what is your name." She shouts while standing herself up straight. He just makes some noises and she nods her head and says, "I understood none of. that, but I'm Sophie and I shall call you Otto." she states as she spins on her heels and skips off. Otto follows not far behind. Sophie takes a look back and realizes he is gone. she panics as she shouts, "OTTO! OTTO!"  she looks around until she spots him. behind a bush cowering in fear. She runs over to him and. notices the people of her village. walking. over. She is quite bright for her. age and picks up immediately that he's scared of them. She runs over to the people and yells, "LOOK, LOOK, AT THIS COOL LEAF!"  as she leads them in. the opposite direction of Otto. After she shows them some random leaf she skips back to her house. "Hi, mama. Hi, Papa." she says oblivious to the scene she has walked into. Her mother is in tears sitting at the table in the middle of the room. It's a small house, it has a kitchen with a table, a surprisingly clean bathroom, and two bedrooms, one for her parents that is always perfectly in place with the window always open, and hers that she has made all her own with almost every picture she's. ever drawn.  Her father is standing the door with bags sitting next to him on the floor. "Sophie, dear go to your room." her father plainly states with no emotion. Sophie is confused so she says, "But, what's wrong with mommy?"

"Go to your room dear, I'm alright. Why don't you go draw me a picture and I'll let you know when you can come out." her mother says with a fake painted smile. The little girl hesitantly walks off to her room.

"We're over I don't know what you don't understand about this. I'm not your husband, and you're not my wife. I'm going home." The man says with a slight shake in his voice that you'd have to really listen for to hear. He's good at. masking his emotions, but this is one of. the hardest things he's ever done.

"Why. Why now. Huh. Have I never been enough for you? what about Sophie? Your daughter. OUR daughter. your just gonna throw us away like a piece of trash. Well, let me tell you this, we are not the trash, YOU are the trash,  you're a coward, you are a horrible person and I hope your new life in America treats you like the TRASH you are."  The woman screams at him. These words cut so hard into his heart, he could feel it. He loves the woman and his daughter. He is just too stupid to realize what true love looks like, and that what he's doing is not. for their own good. His top priority is himself wether he realizes that or not.

With tears sitting right on his eyes waiting to burst. he plainly says, "Good-bye" and leaves. Standing up out of her. chairs furious with tears running down her face and so much pure emotion at the brim of her heart she screams, "YOU WORTHLESS PIECE OF TRASH, WONT EVEN SAY GOOD-BYE TO YOUR OWN DAUGHTER!" she doesn't care what her village neighbors think.

Quietly sobbing to herself sitting patiently in her room Sophie draws a picture of an ape like creature sitting on the grass, bathing in the sun. Tears fall onto the paper as she writes the word 'Otto' above the head of the creature in the drawing.
