A Big Baby

Jamie was still busily composing a new song when he woke up from his sleep.

No, Jamie didn't wake him up; he just seems to have some bad insomnia these days despite being really tired. He wants to sleep but whenever he goes to bed he realized that there is something missing in him which creates the emptiness in his heart that keeps him awake. He felt so restless. As if his heart knows better than his conscious self that he is desperately missing something. The reason is unknown to him, but the feelings linger in him for quite a while. He's engulfed with insecurity and fear, and he subconsciously reminded himself that he should not let anyone know about it.

Not even his girlfriend.

They are busy people, their lives are fast-paced and hardly slowing down, let alongside stopping. Jamie recently travelled to Finland again for her new album recording and some new project, leaving Jae alone in their apartment in South Korea. Jamie has asked him a few times whether he wants to join Jamie for her trip but every single time the answer is negative. Jamie was a bit disappointed at Jae's "no" answer even when he doesn't have any schedule for 1 month straight cause DAY6 is on hiatus, but then again she also knows that Jae has his own choice and sometimes they need to respect each others choice and privacy despite being a couple with a strong intimate bond.

But little did Jamie know, Jae regretted his choice right after the night Jamie left to Finland.

Regret. Lonely. Sad. Empty

Before Jae can realize the emptiness that is only increasing in his heart, Jamie was back to Seoul after 2 weeks in Finland.

Despite that he knew picking Jamie up on the airport could be really risky – with the raising popularity of DAY6 and Jamie in Korea, the media could find them out easily, they barely could came out without the crowd surrounding them if they didn't put on a disguise – but he just couldn't hold himself anymore.

Jae remembered very clearly when he gave Jamie an ultra big hug the moment he saw Jamie walking out of the arrival hall in the airport, while Jamie returned the embrace with a tighter one, clearly showing that they both miss each other terribly, unsure who misses the other more, but surprisingly that hug seems not enough to fill in the emptiness in his heart and the feelings is impossible to be expressed by words, which is clearly a disadvantage for an inexpressive person like him.

Not long after Jamie arrived in Korea, she went to bed even though it's still daytime. Jae could not blame her because he knows the struggle of being jetlag. He lets his lover have some sleep while he stayed awake and do some Twitch live stream.

When Jae is finally ready to hit the sack, Jamie had slept enough and decided to stay up for the night to compose some songs.

And that is when, Jae woke up in the middle of the night, feeling uneasy and disoriented, but he knows he needs his lover, he needs Jamie. Like now,

Right now.

Jamie let out a soft smile when he saw Jae padding towards the living room couch where Jamie was seated.

"Hey," She reached out her hand to gently grab her lover's larger hand "You alright, Jae?" She said after looking at Jae distraught and frowning face

No I'm not alright. At all.

But Jae stubbornly answered "Yeah, I'm okay..." before he looked down and let out a tired sigh.
