Chapter 1 - The family history

"Father, where are we going?" A six year old Harry Styles asked his father, looking up at the man who raised him with curious green eyes.

King Desmond shot his only son a loving smile. "I am going to tell you our family history, you are old enough to know." The king said to his son.

Harry furrowed his eyebrows, looking up at his father in confusion. The family history? Why would that interest me? Harry couldn't help but wonder.

"Isn't history boring?" Harry asked his father in bewilderment. Harry had enough history lessons from his teacher and he did not need more lessons, thank you very much.

Desmond laughed in amusement. "My dear Harry, you want to be king later, won't you?" The king asked.

Harry nodded his head. "And do you want to be a good king?" When his father asked that Harry couldn't help but grow confused. Of course he would be a good king. He would be the best king the world has ever known. Why would his own father question him?

"Of course, father. I will be the best king." Harry promised his father with a toothy grin.

"And do you want to know why the history is so important?" Desmond asked his son next. Harry shook his head.

Harry watched when his father smiled and bent down to his height to grasp his shoulders. "You are going to be the king of the future. And if you want to be a good king you need to know the past; you need to know about the mistakes your ancestors made so you won't make the same." Desmond smiled down at Harry. "And history is not always boring, if you listen good enough, you learn a lot from it."

Harry looked at his father in awe. Harry wasn't going to lie, his dad was the best dad there is, both to him and his younger sister. He watched over them, he fed them and most importantly. Desmond Styles loved his children with his whole heart.

"Come on, I want to show you something." King Desmond said while he stood up.

Father and son walked through the palace garden. Harry had always loved the palace garden, it was so colourful. There were different types of flowers and many exotic birds and butterflies, which Harry loved.

The king stopped by a lake, where he sat down on a bench. He turned around to face his son, who was looking around with wide eyes. Desmond pushed his dark blond curly hair out of his green eyes and smiled. "Harry," he said, catching his son's attention.

Harry gave his father a dimpled smile and jumped next to him on the bench. His legs were too short to touch the ground, so he started kicking them in the air instead.

"Do you know what this lake is called?" Harry heard his father ask.

Harry's green eyes swiped over the shimmering clear blue lake in front of them and replied. "Lake Lynn."

Desmond leaned back against the bench and looked out over Lake Lynn. "Do you know how our family got immortal?"

Harry blinked in surprise. "Magic?" He innocently asked making Desmond laugh.

"Let me tell you a story. A story I have heard of my father when I was around your age," King Desmond said and Harry smiled. Another thing Harry loved is story time.
