Getting To Know You- A Tanner Buchanan Story

Lexi POV

As we walked through the doors of sketch, it hit me that I hadn't really processed the fact that I was actually going for dinner with some of the people I've been a fan of since I was like 10, "what the hell where you thinking, saying yes to coming here" my subconscious screamed at me

I could faintly see Julia and Jared sitting at a table located at the far end of the restaurant, crap I could feel my anxiety start to bubble at the pit of my stomach. Tanner could obviously tell that I was feeling uneasy because he turned to look at me, with a concerned expression on his face

"here" he said gesturing for me to hold his hand

As my hand met his, he gave it a reassuring squeeze kind of like he was telling me not to be nervous, and somehow that made me feel a lot more relaxed, how was it possible that one tiny gesture from this man could affect me so drastically ?

"Hey Guys" Said Julia with a welcoming smile as we reached where they were sitting

Tanner was obviously very happy to see her, as when she stood up he gave her the biggest bear hug I'd ever seen

While this was all happening I kinda just stood back and let Tanner have his time, I mean this was his best friend who he hadn't seen in ages and the last thing I would want to do is interrupt

"Lexi" Tanner said as he took my hand, to bring me next to where he was standing "Meet Julia, Julia meet Lexi"

Tanner POV

Walking into Julia's house I'm met with the familiar smell of one of her Jo Malone candles that had obviously been lit throughout the day.

We were having such a good time at sketch that we decided to bring the party back home. Lexi had really hit it off with Julia and Jared and as I looked over I could see her eagerly chatting away about I'm not sure what, but whatever it was they were all laughing about it.

"What does everyone want to drink" Said Jared as soon as he got through the front door

"I'll have my usual Gin, how about you Lexi" replied Julia

"Umm... I'll think I'll have the same"

"Tanner ?" Julia yelled from the kitchen

"I'll make your life easy and have the same"

Jared and Julia were now busy making drinks and grabbing some snacks from the kitchen, leaving me and Lexi by ourselves

"Come Sit" I said grabbing Lexi's hand to bring her over to the sofa

As she went to sit down, I wrapped my arms around her waist (probably a bit influenced by alcohol but oh well) and sat her on my lap

"I've had the most amazing time tonight" She said bringing me into a warm embrace

"So have I, I'm so glad I walked into the studio when I did today"

We where now staring directly at each other, green eyes to blue, no distractions, just us in that moment. I could've kissed her then and there, in fact it took everything in me not too, but I just couldn't take advantage like that... she had, had a few drinks and was clearly not in a great place at the moment, if I was going to do anything, it needed to be with a clear conscience.

"You basically know my whole life story now, tell me a bit about yours" I said tucking a loose strand of hair behind Lexi's ear

"Do you want the long version or the short version" she replied jokingly
