The school week carried on as rambunctious as before. With Giroro remaining at home, Zeroro was left defenseless and took refuge in the area which the crimson tadpole normally occupied- the dumpster. She suffered through harsh beatings during the class hours and was left to construct lies to assure her mother that everything was just fine.

While Zeroro faced her problems, Giroro faced some of their own. They’d decided that it was best to go back to school the next week and possibly have Garuru become their guardian instead of their father so they may get permissions to be accepted as the gender they wished to be accepted as. However, with this and the recent death of their mother, there were lots of complications in her life and they’d have to wait a while for everything to be cleared up…

Giroro watched the clock in her room carefully. If its two thirty right now, then Zeroro should be out of school in fifty minutes…that’s enough time to get over there.

They slung a bag over their shoulder and waved goodbye to Garuru before beginning a long walk to Zeroro’s house. They’d never been there, but from what Zeroro had described, they knew exactly what direction to go. Giroro had roamed these streets for ages and was a master of all roads. They could tell where a house was just by a vague  description of it.

After quite a while of walking, they stumbled upon a massive household that seemed to shimmer. A plate hanging loosely on the door read, “Medical Assistance Available!” They knew there was a fifty-fifty chance of the house belonging to some random nurse instead of Zeroro’s well renown mother, but they decided to test the odds. Not to their surprise, a squeaky voice answered the door once they knocked.

“H-hello? Mama isn’t in right now if you need her…!”

“Hey, Zeroro, its me. I wanna talk to ya.”

“Giroro! Come right on in!” she smiled as she opened the door.

Giroro’s eyes sparkled in amazement as she spotted the various riches and beautiful furniture inside of Zeroro’s house. The walls and floors shone bright, and the house was spotless. She smiled widely and began to observe every aspect of the marvelous house.

“Wow…you live in such a nice house! How’d you afford all of this?”

“Dad made a lot of money as a medic, and he put his soul into making this house the way it is…Mama is the one that still keeps it clean, though.”

Giroro stared around for a while longer before remembering the task at hand. They turned towards the tadpole, now with a serious look on their face.

“W-well…that aside, I’ve got a lotta stuff to talk to ya about…I’ve missed ya, Zeroro.”

Zeroro smiled and blushed under her mask. “Ah, okay! Shall we go to my room…? I-it’s ok if you don’t want to, but my brother might eavesdrop if we’re out here…”

“Don’t sweat it, I’m fine with going to your room.”

The two slowly walked up the marble stairs, holding carefully onto the cold, glimmering rails. The entire house looked like something out of a fairy tale.
