BANG!
BANG BANG!
Screams echoed across the room, blood splatters hid behind bodies like shadows, hiding from their maker. A man in all black stood over the bodies- staring into their free souls- a grin growing across his face. The screams where quiet to him as his ears were listening in on the incoming sirens. His expectations were met quickly as a convey of bullet proof S.W.A.T. vans flew round the nearest corner; the sirens, however, seemed to have no effect on the man as he remained stationary with the only change being his eyes flickering yellow and his sinister smile growing even more. The police moved in on the building shouting at the man to put down the weapon. He stayed still.
"DROP THE GUN"
"PUT THE FUCKING GUN DOWN"
The man's unforgettable smile turned into a laugh as he turned to face the police; he began to lift up the gun but the second he did so his body exploded with bullets. His laugh stayed in the room for hours but it stayed in my head for years. The man slaughtered my family because he enjoyed murder, the police couldn't think of any motive, all they knew was he was a cold blooded killer, born to kill, died killing. Those few minutes influenced every single day of my life, so much so that I chose to stop it happening to others. I became a detective in the NYPD, a decision I haven't regretted to this day. However my morals have been broken in the minds of many, something which would keep others from sleeping at night but I had other, worse, things on my mind.
One of which being the time I spent in the hospital. It killed my spirit, my motives got lost in my head and I went to a dark place. I lived in depression for over 2 years until I met someone, she seemed to know the answer to all my questions before I even asked them. Her support was the last thread stopping me from falling. The thread became strong and it sewed me back together but once it was clear my mind was fixed she asked me to help her with something, something many would consider unethical or wrong. However she was the nurse that kept me alive, I could not say no.
