15-year-old penny jacobs was forced to grow up at a young age due to her home life, and past trauma. penny has to deal with going through high school, helping her family when it is slowly falling apart, and keeping herself in check.
16-year old tate martin, the most well-known boy in a small-town with wealthy parents and the "perfect" life. his signature smirk has a lot hiding behind it though.

penny is an introverted sophomore, beginning a new chapter of her life. penny enjoys reading, drawing, writing, and singing in her free time. penny's safe space is the local coffee shop, the art museum, the library, the thrift store, and the record store. she puts everyone before herself, loves the rain, and is a hopeless romantic. (in this story i say she has short wavy blonde hair, extremely blue eyes, is 15, and is 5'11.)

tate is an extremely outgoing junior, and the whole school knows him and to not mess with him. tate enjoys skating, reading classic books, and playing his electric guitar and the drums. his safe space is the skate park, his secret spot, the music store, and the woods. he's a player and always has a new girl latched to him. He would love to find a secure significant other at some point though. (in this story i say he has extremely dark brown hair that is long and curly, hazel eyes, is 16, and is 6'4)
