Ivy Tomlinson
It's been three days since I talked to Louis or more like I was doing all the talking while he was just breathing on the other line.
Athena has asked multiple times what happened that night at the club but I just can't talk about it. In between that random guy, Harry, and Louis it's all too much.
I've been texting Athena the last three days, turning down all the attempts she's made to get me out of the hotel. I've just been lying in bed, I just don't feel like going out.
But it's Athena's lucky day because we're meeting up for coffee in 20 minutes.
I've been brushing all the knots out of my hair, while standing over my suit case trying to find a simple warm outfit.
Deciding I need to wear jeans since I've been living in sweatpants, I pick up a pair of mom jeans and a black crop top. Looking through my coats, I pick up a green leather blazer. Slipping on some basic black booties, someone calling my phone caught my attention.
I didn't bother checking the caller ID, I just answer.
"Hello?" I say while looking at myself in the mirror.
"Hey, I'm about to pull up!" Athena squeals from the other line.
"Okay, heading down now. Grab a table, yeah?" I say going to grab my purse.
"Yeah! I'll get the window one from last time. See you soon!" She said hanging up.
I made sure I have everything before I head out the door.
Deciding to take the stairs, I needed some time to get in a good mindset before actually talking to someone.
Taking a breather before exiting the lobby three flights can really wind you.
Walking across the street, I found myself still scanning for a black Range Rover. I swear it's been Harry following me. I mean, I know it's a popular car but what are the chances that the person watching me has the same car as Harry.
Athena cheerfully greeted me, snapping me out of my thoughts.
"Hey, how are you?" I say sitting down with my back towards the door.
"I'm good! I went ahead and ordered your latte." She said moving her eyes to the mug in front of me
"Oh Thank you!" I say picking up the drink.
"So, how have you been? I've been worried about you." She said with a sad smile.
"Why are you worried?" I start getting defensive not wanting to talk about my feelings.
"You've been canceling all our plans!" She said matter of factly.
"I just haven't felt like leaving my room." I shrugged and took a sip from the latte.
"You know you can talk to me, we're friends." She said looking into my eyes. But we're far from friends, we literally just met.
"Nothing's wrong, you don't need to worry." I said chuckling hoping she will just drop this.
"Ivy." she sighed.
"Athena!" I said more cheery.
She just gave me a pointed look making me groan.
"Fine. I talked to my brother." I said vaguely, she doesn't need to know the details.
"Why is that so bad?" She asked confusingly, the one question I didn't want to answer.
"Umm.. well, he kinda left me, and when I called he didn't say anything." I said looking out the window avoiding eye contact.
"Oh well what did you say?" She asked.
'God she asks a lot of questions.' I thought to myself.
"I just told him that I was done looking for him, he's the whole reason I'm in New York." I said taking my attention off of the window bringing it back to her.
"Why are you giving up?" She said looking concerned.
"Because I don't want to contact my only lead, and the closest I've gotten without it is that phone call." I said looking down at my hands picking at my cuticles, not wanting to think of Harry.
"Have you tried tracking his phone?" She said making me whip my head up, looking at her in confusion.
She must've caught my facial expression because she started explaining more.
"If he answered the call, you can go onto a website and see the cell towers near by that picked it up." She said taking a sip of her drink like what she said is just casual information.
"How do you know that?" I asked taking a sip from mine also.
"Used it to find out if my ex was cheating on me." Athena said shrugging.
"Wow. That's smart. Can you text me the website?" I said finally having some hope.
"Yeah, but you can only use it on computers. Learned that the hard way." she said chuckling and taking out her phone.
"Noted, I'll just use my laptop." I said smiling, this is the best lead I've had.
"Sent." She said smiling back.
"I'm gonna get going, have a lead to follow." I said winking at her as I stood up from my chair.
"Okay, I should get going too!" Athena said standing up after me.
"How much do I owe you?" I said pulling out my wallet.
Athena puts her hand up stopping me from pulling any cash out.
"Nonsense, it was my idea to come here, it's on me!" she said smiling.
"Oh okay, well next time it's on me. Bye!" I said walking out and across the street.
"Bye! I'll text you later" she said getting into her Audi.
-
I sprinted up the stairs because I was too jittery to wait for the elevators.
Out of breath I open my hotel door and closed it fast, speed walking to my suitcase.
I dig through the bag looking for my laptop, and I finally see the green case I've put on it.
I quickly took it out and ran to my bed, grabbing my charger on the way to connect my phone to the laptop.
I swiftly typed in my password and opened
Google, grabbing my phone pulling up Athenas text.I searched up the website and followed the instructions step by step, until I got to the bottom of the page and see a 'find' button.
I took a deep breath, not allowing myself to overthink it before I clicked it.
