Trailing after their scents, I find myself scaling stairs. Needing to check in on them.

I speed walk towards the pair as they come into sight. Oblivious to my presence even though I'm only a few feet away, I'm caught in an unlucky position as I catch onto the love confessions.

Pausing for only a moment before I disappear into the night, almost tripping as tears begin to over flow from my eyes. I feel Legosi's eyes on me, Haru and her lesser senses apparently oblivious to the heartbreak as she tugs his head down to meet hers.

Turning sharply, my feet carry me faster to the dorms. My predator releasing hormones just so that I could leap up the stairs a flight at a time before zooming into the dorm amd slimming the door behind me.

The boys stare at me in bewilderment. Having never seen me cry, not even when they were removing bullets from my shoulder. I blink at them, wide eyed and emotional. Getting changed into my weird and colorful sleeping clothes, stalking into the kitchen, Jack trails after me cautiously.

"comfort food, comfort food, comfort food,"

I mumble under my breath as I grab ingredients, shoving them towards Jack. Collot walks towards us, the others observe from a distance as I snatch the ingredients back and start making a mixture.

Flicking on the stove, I pour the batter into a frying pan. The smell of pancakes quickly fills the room. Stepping back as my tears almost drip into the pan. Jack and Collot tug me back, Jack taking my hands as Collot hugs me from behind.

"Hey, look at me."

Collot gently encourages me to look at Jack through my hiccups and runny nose.

"Good. Now just breathe, what can we do to help you?"

I sniffle and look at the slowly cooking pancakes.

"Food? You want food?"

Nodding my head, I choke on myself slightly. Collot rubs my back before slowly letting go and speaking,

"Then we shall eat like Kings!"

He declares loudly and in less than a minute, I've been kicked out of the kitchen as the males take over. Then, after two minutes of watching them struggle and make a mess, I kick them all back out with a genuine smile.

Jack laughs and decides to grab another pan and helping me speed through cooking a couple dozen pancakes. Collot takes over as Jack gets ready for bed and watches me for a moment before following my actions as I begin to make fried rice and scrambled eggs.

By the time everything is done, the dorm smells heavenly. My dearest dormmates spend the next two hours joking around with me and stuffing their faces, until the dorm next door to us started shouting through the wall.

We muffle our laughter with our hands and start to clean. I wrap up the left overs and leave them near the stove as the boys clear their plates and put them in the dish washer. Each giving me a hug on their way past me, I flick the light out and climb onto my bed only to be met by Jack and Collot cramped together waiting for me in my bed.

Sighing, I sit cross legged in front of them.

"He loves her, guys. He really does."

Jack smiles kindly and Collot ruffles my hair.

"You know what? it's his loss."

Rolling my eyes playfully at Collots words,

"I can't help but hate her for it. She loved someone else, put Legosi second for him until Legosi was the one that saved her."

Jack ponders for a moment before speaking,

"But didn't you help save her?"

I groan and lean against the wall.

"Yeah I did. If I hadn't then they both would be dead. I'd rather watch him be with someone else than live with knowing that he died when I could have helped."

Jack shakes his head and looks at Collot.

"Then Collot is right. It is Legosi's loss."

Shaking my head, I shoo them off of my bed. They chuckle at my stubbornness and clamber down with an extreme lack of grace.

Voss groans from across the room and tells them to be quiet. Burying my head into my pillows, I struggle to relax. Not long goes by before soft snores and labored breathing is a soft hum throughout the room.

My eyes begin to ache as I become harshly aware that how sleepless this night will be. Heart throbbing painfully in my chest, I find myself whimpering slightly before springing upwards as someone treads lightly outside the door.

Legosi's large frame cautiously slinks through the door. Lazily, I climb down from my bunk and pad across the floor towards him. He jumps slightly at my presence before growling playfully as I reach up and tug his ear.

His stomach grows lightly. Poking it gently, I drag him into the kitchen. I flick the kettle on, awfully aware of his gaze on me as I unwrap the left overs, grabbing a large spoon and scooping some onto a plate. Legosi stutters over words but falls silent as I push the plate towards him and pour myself a nice hot drink.

I can finally relax.... kind of.

Sitting on the bench as I sip leisurely, purposely ignoring the heat of Legosi's gaze on my frame while he eats. Light peers in through the few windows our dorm has. The moonlight kissing our fur. I stare at my thighs as they glow faintly. I also begin to regret wearing pyjama shorts for once instead of basketball shorts.

Legosi moves closer to me, placing his plate into the sink then turning to face me. I refuse to meet his eyes, stubbornly sipping my tea and staring off at a wall. Not a moment passes before he stands in front of me with both hands on the bench. Glancing at the hands on each side of me, I lower my cup and meet his gaze.

Our eyes clash almost painfully. I put my mug down as he pierces through me, intruding my senses. My heart thuds roughly in my chest, so loud I fear he hears it.

"I want to thank you,"

Chest aching, I smile brokenly.

"It's okay."

He shakes his head and hugs me tightly to his chest. Legosi places his hands on the curve of my back, awfully close to the rise of my ass, and tucks my head under his chin. I feel my eyes water as I wrap my arms around his waist.

"I will never understand why you do so much for Haru and I, but I will always be thankful to have such a supportive friend."

Chuckling dryly, I give him a tight squeeze. Relishing in this moment, a moment I might never have again.

I love you.

"I love you, Okami."

My head snaps sharply as I stare at Legosi blankly. He kisses my forehead before continuing,

"You're practically family to me."

Caught off guard, I freeze momentarily before painting a smile across my face and forcing a nod. I slip past him and climb into my bed.

"I love you too, Legosi."

Listening to him do the same, I let the tears finally roll down my cheeks as I slowly cry myself to sleep.

What a day.
