On the other hand, Taehyung stood by the window now, watching Jisoo disappear into the distance. He allowed her to get farther, his hands gripping the edge of the sill tightly. The thrill coursing through him was almost euphoric.

"She still thinks she can outrun me," he muttered, amused.

Reaching for his phone, he dialed a number, his eyes still fixed on the gate. "Activate the tracker. She's heading southeast."

The person on the other end acknowledged his command, and Taehyung chuckled darkly.

"I'll have her right back where I want her," he said to himself. "Like I always do."

He slipped on a jacket, taking his time. This wasn't about catching her immediately; it was about reminding her that she could never escape him. She could run all she wanted, but Taehyung's grip extended farther than she could imagine.

He slipped his boots on and hummed a little tune as he went to Eunji's bedroom and walked down the dimly lit hallway to check on Jung-mi.
Opening her bedroom door slightly, he peeked inside. The soft glow of her nightlight illuminated her tiny frame as she clutched a stuffed animal. He leaned over and pressed a light kiss on her forehead. She stirred slightly but didn't wake.

With a contented sigh, he made his way to the room he shared with Irene. As he stepped inside, he wasn't surprised to find her awake. Irene rarely slept without him, especially when she knew he was with Jisoo.

He sat silently at the edge of the bed, his expression unreadable as he watched her.

"I know you're awake," he murmured.

Irene's eyes fluttered open, and she offered a small smile. "Are you coming back to bed now?" she asked, her voice soft, almost hopeful.

Taehyung reached out and gently caressed the top of her head. "Just go to sleep," he said, his tone flat. "I have something to take care of."

As he stood, Irene's hand shot out, grabbing his arm. "I'm sorry," she whispered, her voice trembling.

Taehyung frowned, confused. "Sorry for what?"

"I shouldn't have insulted your wife," she said, her eyes welling with tears. "I was wrong. I just... I can't help but hate her. She has the one thing I thought was mine."

Taehyung sighed, his patience wearing thin. "Irene now's not the time—"

"All these years," she interrupted, her voice cracking. "Five years, Taehyung. Do you know how broken I was when I found out you had a wife all this time? How could you keep that from me?"

Taehyung's jaw tightened. "Yes," he said after a moment, his voice laced with frustration. "Maybe I should've told you. But those years with you... they helped me forget everything. Why would I want to bring it all back?"
