Obsessive Cravings

Aspyn watched on in amusement as Kayden mumbled to himself unknowingly. 

"If you liked my food so much, I can always send some extra for Sam to give you guys?" It was flattering, to say the least, when a handsome guy was seemingly so in love with your food. It was even more flattering when the said attractive man started blushing. 

"Oh, no! You don't have to go through that trouble..." While Kayden would have loved to take up that offer, he had to remind himself that Aspyn would technically be buying her own products for him. She was a sweet gal, offering her services to him for free, but he would feel too guilty if he allowed her to feed him without paying her back.

Plus, he somewhat liked the idea of going to her bakery. 

Just imagine sitting on a chilly winter evening after work, sipping on some hot chocolate and munching on all the sweets he could have. He would probably allow Chloe to eat more sugary good in the week than he normally allowed, if she accompanied him for some evening snacks.  

"Although, do you have a visiting card or something so that I could locate your bakery?" he asked her hopefully, reminding her of a child asking their parent if Santa would be giving them a gift. 

"I'm not carrying it with me right now, sorry." Aspyn winced, joining her hands behind her back as she rocked on her feet. "But, you can give me your number? I can text you the details." Almost as smooth as the ganache she made today morning. 

Smiling brightly at the cheeky woman, Kayden shook his head in amazement, immediately sliding his phone out and handing it to her. 

Aspyn smiled to herself as she saw his phone's wallpaper - a cute selfie of him and Chloe at a park. Adding her contact details under "Bribing Baker", she handed his iPhone back to him quickly. 

"Oh! Could you take me to Hailey? I have to discuss some business stuff with her before I have to leave." Shaking her head at how forgetful she was, she tried to look for the lady who had booked her for today's event. She was supposed to meet her as soon as she reached to discuss about her payment and a possible partnership with La Belle Café as their official caterer. 

If she managed to convert this deal, it would be a major achievement for her business. Being just 26, with no contacts in the business world, and having started her bakery just over a year ago, becoming an official caterer for one of the biggest companies in her locality would be no small feat!

"Oh, yeah sure. Um, I think she's there." Mumbling, Kayden put his hand on Aspyn's back and led her towards the centre table. He felt her tense for  few seconds, before relaxing and letting him lead the way. He himself was shocked at his actions. However, without letting himself overthink, he slowly strolled across the hall with his new friend in tow. 

"Hailey, I've got Aspyn Collins from La Belle Café here." Smiling at the petite brunette, he took a few steps back from her to let her feel in her space again. He blanked out almost immediately when the women started conversing with each other, all smiles. 

Leaning against the table, he crossed his arms as he observed the short lady. She must be around 5'3'', maybe 5'4", not even reaching his shoulders at his 6'1". He observed her face, supposedly clear of make up (but again, he wouldn't be surprised if she did use something; nowadays people use weird techniques to make even a pound of make up look natural). Her hair was up in a loose messy bun, held together by a pen. He had to stop himself from pulling it out of her mane, to see how she'd look with it down and free. 

What shocked Kayden the most was that for the first time ever, he felt like cooing at a girl other than his daughter! He couldn't get over how adorable Aspyn was. She wasn't thin per say, but he'd say she was healthy. He almost felt like cuddling her and her sweet cheeks. 

Was that weird? 

Oh, well. It's not as if he actually acted on his thoughts. 

Aspyn could feel his burning gaze on her as she talked to Hailey. It took a lot of effort to stop herself from grinning like a clown, biting her lips to stop the giggles from escaping. 

"Okay, so I'll let you know once I receive the amount due to me, and I'll message you the details regarding our meeting next week. I hope your guests enjoy the treats; do let me know later if the food was up to your liking." turning to look at an oblivious Kayden, Aspyn smirked and waved at him almost teasingly, "It was nice meeting you guys. Kayden, I'll be expecting a message from you." 

And with that, she strutted out the doors, and went back to her own work place to bake a batch of scones.
