One week later, Sloan and I were closer than ever. We weren't dating but we were closer than some couples. We promised to always be there for each other and so far, we've been doing that just fine.

Dad wanted me to go back home but I let him know that I couldn't because I was looking for a job. Back when I was in Montana, we usually depended on whatever he made from his bakery and it wasn't much so I wanted to get a good job so I could help him.

I lost my mom when I was very little and my dad never remarried since then because he spent all his time working. The least I could do was to make sure he lived a comfortable life.

After two weeks of searching with no luck, I told Sloan about it and he promised to help me. He called later that day that he already got me a job. He said his mother needed a new sales girl at her pizza shop, that I could work there for the meantime and when I found a new job, I could stop.

I was very excited because I was finally going to be able to send money home to my dad at the end of the month. The pay was nice and I didn't have to wake up early because it wasn't far from where I stayed.

That month went smoothly and the new month came with good news and surprises. I was walking to work with my headphones on, listening to my Ed sheeran playlist when Olivia called.

"Hey gurl, guess what?." Excitement was obvious in her voice.

"What?"

"I asked you to guess, you can't just ask what."

"Just tell me, you know I'm terrible at guessing."

"Fine I'll tell you. Ava and I...are engaged!." She squealed happily and it made me laugh. Ava had been her crush since we were freshmen in college. She tried everything she could to get Ava to notice her and when she finally did, Olivia felt like she was going to die.

They've been dating since then and hearing that they were engaged filled my heart with joy. "Congratulations Olive."

"Thanks. I gotta go now, I haven't told Naomi yet."

"Okay, I'll see you at home."

"Actually, no you won't. I'm spending the night at Ava's."

"Okay, see you tomorrow then."

"Yeah. Bye."

I hung up and hurried on to work so I wouldn't be late. When I got there, I saw Sloan with a Lady that looked like model. She looked elegant in her dress that stopped at her knee, her blonde hair tied up neatly in a bun. She sat cross legged across him and was laughing so hard that I wondered what could be so funny because he was laughing too.

I walked up to their table, pretending not to see Sloan. "What can I get you?" I asked and smiled before Sloan called my name. "Oh you're here, I didn't notice you." I lied and he seemed to notice because he smiled and said,

"Sure you didn't."

He introduced me to the blonde girl as his girlfriend and it made me blush a little. The blonde girl, Tracy turned out to be his cousin and that made me blush even more because I was jealous for no reason.
