My sunshine | A Mirio Togata x reader story

Chapter I:

~first dayy~

'AH SUCH A BEAUTIFUL DAY, (uh!) SUN'S SHINING IN A BEAUTIFUL WAY, (uh!) GONNA TAKE A SHOWE-!' My alarm sounds. ¨SHUT UP!¨ I yelled and threw my phone across the room causing it to break. ¨AAAAAH!¨ I turned around in my bed, putting my pillow on my head as I tried to sleep again. Today was the last day of the vacation and I went home with my brother Tamaki. Just as I was about to fall asleep again he entered my room and turned on the lights.

¨Is everything alright?!¨ He looked around the room to see the minor dent in the wall from my hard throw and my broken phone on the ground. ¨I heard you yell and I came to see if you were okay..¨ He walked towards me and sat next to me as I shuffled around in my bed. It always surprises me, the fact that he acts so differently with me in comparison to how he acts around other people, but it made me feel better.

¨I'm fine.. I just- I-..¨ I sighed, not even able to form words because I was so upset. Tamaki petted my head and spoke up.

¨You can tell me later, but right now you have to get out of bed, wash up and put your uniform on.¨ He stood up and walked to the door before turning around to say one last thing. ¨I made breakfast.¨ I immediately jumped out of bed and headed to the bathroom causing him to laugh and shake his head before he went downstairs again.

After I was done with everything that was needed, I grabbed my bag, stuffed my books in it and headed downstairs too, eager to see what delicious food my brother made this time.

As I left my bag at the front door with my shoes, I walked to my pet frog Jello saying good morning and picking him up. He slipped out of my hands and I had to chase him around the house to catch him again. ¨You just slipped through my hands! That's badass of you to just do that. You could easily slip out of any situation.. I wish I could do that..¨ I whispered the last part so my brother wouldn't hear. Jello croaked and booped my nose with his tongue. ¨Cool..¨ He slipped out of my hands again. I sighed and smiled, picking him up and putting him in his aquarium again. I looked at him for a second thinking that I shared more of my stories with this frog than with anyone else. I looked around to see that my brother was already seated at the table, signing for me to come over. ¨Oh my loooord!¨ I sat down. ¨Awesome! You made (favorite breakfast food)!¨ He smiled and nodded.

¨Y-Yeah.. Thought you would like it.¨ He said smiling.

¨OF COURSE I WOULD LIKE IT, I LOVE IT!¨ I said a bit loud.

¨Uh.. I'm glad but.. Tone it down a little. I think the old couple next door is still asleep.¨ He answered. I began to chow down on the food. Tamaki smiled down at me but that changed quite quickly. ¨Hey, uh, tell me what you wanted to say just now.¨ He said and took a bite of his food. My happy expression turned and he could see that. I swallowed my food but it seemed like it just got stuck in my throat.

¨Uh- well- uh- I-¨ I cleared my throat. ¨I- I can't remember.¨ I gave an embarrassing laugh, turning back to my sad expression again as I took another bite of my food. I didn't want to tell him why I despised going to school.

Tamaki looked concerned and replied: ¨Well, tell me if you remember ok?.¨ He turned to his food and a couple of minutes filled with awkward silence passed. My brother thought about his best friend. He was filled with excitement to see him again. It's been too long and he had no time to visit the last 2 weeks. After all he is the closest of all the people he knows, to becoming a real pro-hero. Suddenly something popped up. ¨Hey uh... I- actually I forgot to tell you.. I have a surprise for you today but you have to wait a little longer to find out.¨

¨Aww, can't you just tell me now?¨ I whined.

¨No, I uh- You gotta go see for yourself.¨ He said while standing up to get the dirty dishes of the table and washed them with my help. ¨Now we have to go.¨ We both sighed and put our shoes on. We shared music from Tamaki's phone together with both one earbud in while we were on the bus. The closer we got to school, the more I saw his face glow up. But once we stepped out of the bus he turned into a big ball of crippling depression again.

¨That's the bro I know..¨ I said and gave him a pat on the back. ¨Good luck! I'm looking forward to that surprise!¨ I said, looked back at him and raised my thumbs. I began to speed walk to my classroom so I wouldn't bump into the reason I don't like school.
