Everything Has Changed

Chapter 1

I casually sit there, on my bed. the only place that can actually make me happy. I have my earphones in blocking out the world. Days like these I just want to be left alone. You can sort of refer this as bipolar sorta. one day I'm this, next day i'm this. then it's just a complete mess with being depressive one day and acting high the next. the only person I can allow in this sacred place is Luke. I mean, it's Luke. the non-judgmental one. the one that'll always be there for you, no matter how crazy the situation is. me and him are like...hmmm....sort of...like brother and sister. sometimes it gets to me and I can't stand being his 'best friend' can I be more important to him for once? now, don't tell me to 'go after him' and 'tell him how you really feel' no, it's not like that. I'm afraid to. I can't be hurt again and besides, he loves the one and only Haley. Haley Marie Smith. ugh. the name itself is horrific. She hated me ever since year 8. I have no clue why. most people say its my 'looks' which really bugs me, I'm not that pretty to be honest. and what hurts me the most is, luke has no clue we have this feud going on. that's why I'm afraid to go after him. oh well, better of this way...right?

"hey" I say, sitting down at the kitchen table. Daniel and Beau were over today. they even hated this haley girl. she's too rude and non-caring for Luke. she just wants the internet fame, doesn't she? "Hiya" Beau say whilst juggling some oranges. "So, we should catch a movie tonight, I think it'd be fun?" I ask, breaking the silence. hmm, usually when Haley and Luke fight, the boys get quiet and can't speak of it. I've been there to witness one of their fights and it's not the prettiest sight ever. beau constantly tells luke to end things but Luke insists that the relationship is ok. "depends on what Luke's doing, yanno hanging out with haley is his daily thing which bugs the hell out of us" Daniel says, finally answering my question. "Well its okay, I mean luke doesn't seem to favor me as much as you guys do" it's true, Luke and I used to be so close, really close. we'd tell each other anything, anything. from my crushes to my personal problems. I miss it. so much. "Alex, please don't blame luke for being like this. it's haley, I swear." Beau says. "I know, I'm okay with it too....anyways...about the cinema, wanna go in about 10 minutes? I'd like to longboard for a while, just to get things off my mind."

"Sure, we'll just relax here until you're ready. take as long as you want. we understand you need the time." Beau says, letting out a short sigh afterwards. and with that, I left.
