"Gia, get up! Otherwise you are really too late and neither of us want that. "I had been awake for a long time, but my uncle didn't seem to know that or he didn't care. "Yeah!" I quickly put on my sweater and ran down the stairs with my backpack. From the kitchen I could already hear the busy family life of my family, my cousin complained about getting up early, while my uncle told him to stop complaining because others would have it much worse. "Good morning, family. I hope everyone is doing well here, even if it's a Monday morning. "I entered the kitchen with a cheerful greeting. My cousin just rolled his eyes slightly as he slid a little further on the kitchen bench to make room for me. My aunt sat diagonally across from him and while she stroked her pregnancy belly, she smiled cheerfully at me. "I will never understand how you can be so airy and cheerful. And in the damn morning! ", grumbled my cousin.
That made me laugh again, because I'm actually neither a motivated nor a happy person. "Dyan, these are just my medication. No stress, without them I would certainly be in a completely different way. "I laughed. Even if it's actually really not funny that I need medication to be in a good mood. But it is the way it is, at least I can't change it in the near future. Even if it would be really nice to finally be able to live properly. Dyan just shrugged his shoulders and went back to his breakfast. "By the way, honey, are you thinking of packing the medication for the entire school day and taking it at the right time?" My uncle's gaze was no longer on the pancakes in the pan but on me.
"Have it in my backpack, everything well prepared, as always, Uncle Steven." I relaxed and ate my breakfast until my aunt pointed out that if we didn't leave soon we would be late. "Come on, Gia. I really don't feel like getting stressed because we're running too late again! ", Dyan was really grumpy about the morning. "I'm not the one who is in such a bad mood in the morning that he either overslept or smokes three fags in front of school." Before he could say anything about it, I left him and ran out to his car and got in straight away. It's always been like that between us, and since childhood I've been able to deal with his quirks and he with mine, and he's one of the few who can calm me down during seizures. What I really appreciate about him.
After another five minutes of waiting, he finally came in silence, sat down in the driver's seat and started the car, the radio automatically began to play music, which made the silence much more pleasant. "Gia, you know if something is wrong you come to me or one of the clique. Even if you only feel a hint of a panic attack, you are looking for someone or a quiet place. Can you promise me that? "He sounded much less in a bad mood and more like the cousin aka brother figure that he was for me. I made approving noises, because we have discussed all of this umpteen times and I knew exactly what I had to do, before I did it I had to think about something, but at least I know most of his friends pretty well.
„Good." When I arrived at school, I looked nervously at the many groups of my classmates. "Don't stress yourself, it's not like you're really new to school. You were gone a year and are back now, all good. Take a deep breath and off you go. "And with that we got out after I had come down a bit. Some looked surprised at who was getting out of the car, but basically the attention was not on us, after all, it was a Monday morning and among the young people who were partying the entire weekend there was a certain bad mood that was due to a hangover sure to talk about the weekend house party. With my cousin by my side, I ran through the crowd of students, straight towards Dyan's clique. I could see Dyan's best friend Kaden who was talking to some stranger and we were eagerly awaited, at least Dyan who was snogged straight away by his boyfriend Josh. "Morning Gia, how are you today? Nice to see you, even if we only saw each other yesterday, I missed you. "I couldn't see or answer that quickly when Josh had pulled me into a hug. "Morning, Josh. I'm fine so far and you? "I'm sure he would have liked to have answered and the others would surely have greeted me too, but my attention was now on the mysterious man who stared at me in amazement.
I was nudged from the side, but my eyes were still on the man in front of me. It really felt like he could look straight into my soul. Realistically, of course, impossible. But not at this moment. Through my stare, my cousin's and the others' gaze fell on my eyes' target. He gave a rather comical growl, as if he were a dog. Kind of funny. Carefully he pushed himself with his whole body in front of me, which had the effect that I could really no longer see anything of the mysterious man. Confused, I tried to push past Dyan, but was prevented by two people, Josh and Kaden. Kaden took me by my elbow and pulled me in the direction of the school building, although I tried to take another look at what was happening behind me, but I could only take a quick look at the man. Then I found myself in the office with Kaden at my side. Our secretary Ms. O'Lain handed me my schedule and made it clear how happy she was to see me again. With a smile, I assured her that everything was okay. Even if I wasn't one hundred percent sure.
What had just happened in front of the school building?
