"Somebody help!" He watched a woman that looked to be in her early 20s scream as a man crept towards her. He knew that the woman's death was seconds away as the vampire grabbed her hair. If his odd behavior didn't give it away his crimson eyes did. Alex saw this too many times to count but he always stayed out of it. He sighed and jumped from the roof of the building the man had pushed her against. Alex felt the wind rush past him as he fell. He put on his hood and adjusted the mask over his mouth as he landed on the ground.
"Who the hell are you?" The man asked as he dropped the woman and turned to him, "This is my prey!"
"Not anymore she's not." Alex told him as his eyes went from blue to red. The vampire charged Alex with the intent to slash his throat. The woman watched as the man went limp as Alex shoved his hand through his chest. Alex removed his hand from the vampires chest and swung it hard enough for all of the blood to come off. She cowered as he walked over to her and kneeled down.
"That was scary huh?" Alex asked her calmly as he began to pick her book bag up. He read her jacket and realized that she went to the same university that he was about to attend.
"Please don't hurt me." She said as tears began to streak her face. He sighed and handed the bag to her.
"I don't plan on it." He told her as he turned to talk away, "Now get home."
