Growing up as the only daughter of Kim In Ki, the owner of the biggest chain of department stores and malls in Asia, Uahan, she was never meant to beg.
Yet, she was driving to her used-to-be childhood friend then near-enemy, Lee Min Ho.
At the lobby of the elegant building, she asked to meet the CEO. The receptionist nearly laughed at her when she said the CEO was not someone a schoolgirl could randomly ask to meet.
She opened her Chanel handbag and laid her namecard on the table.
The receptionist read it and her eyes widened.
"Tell him Kim Go Eun from Uahan wants to see him."
The receptionist hurried to call the CEO. Once she heard the answer, she said, "Lee Daepyonim is ready to see you now. I'll accompany you upstairs."
Go Eun nodded and followed her.
It's been years since she last went to the building to attend Shinhwa's company annual dinner. The building had always reminded her of The Ritz, with its elegant air freshner and furniture.
Too soon, they arrived at the top floor. Passing the office of directors, they then stood in front of the CEO's office.
The receptionist talked to one of the four secretaries working there.
"This is Kim Go Eun Agassi. Daepyonim is expecting her."
"He said Agassi could immediately enter his office."
The receptionist opened the door for her and Go Eun thanked her before stepping in.
He looked up from his mahogany desk, the same one his father always used.
"I didn't believe it when I heard it. The sun must have risen from the west earlier, for Uahan's heiress to be willing to visit my office."
