Eden's POV

I was laying on my bed. It was the night before the school year officially started. I was gratefully distracted from my summer reading by my phone buzzing from beside me.

Stiles :)                                                                                                                                                                                  I'm parked out the front, get up and get dressed. I'll explain when you get out here.

Stiles... He does this often and as a result, I've gotten quite good at sneaking out my window and climbing down the wall. My mother never suspected a thing. I grabbed a hoodie and threw it over my head to go with the sweatpants I was wearing and jumped out the window.

"What are we doing this time?" I asked, hopping into the passenger seat. "Its the night before school goes back and I procrastinated all my homework."

"We," he dragged the word out as he put the jeep into drive. "Are going to pick up Scott, then we are going for a hike in the woods."

"A hike- Stiles, a hike in the woods? I'm wearing slippers!" I exclaimed.

"They found a body! What else was I supposed to do?" He lifted one hand off the wheel and moved it to the gear stick.

"Um, let your dad be the sheriff?" I squinted, looking at his side profile.

"And why would I do that?" Stiles responded as we turned the corner onto a familiar street.

"Yeah no, you wouldn't be Stiles if you did." I sigh, leaning back into the seat. He chuckled and turned to smile at me. The feeling of heat rushing to my cheeks, something that I knew all to well around this boy.

"Wait here, I'll go get Scott." He jumped out, the car door making a banging sound as he closed it. I laugh quietly to myself when I see him climbing onto the roof. Of course he couldn't knock on the door like a regular person. My laughing ceased when I saw the baseball bat that Scott had walked out the front door with and almost hit Stiles. They talked for a few moments before both heading back towards the car.

"Hey Eden," Scott smiles, climbing into the back seat.

"What's up Scotty," I return his smile, twisting in my seat. "Remind me what we're looking for again?" I turn back around.

"Half a dead body." Stiles says nonchalantly.

"What the fuck Stiles?"

-

Stile's pulled up to the preserve, right in front of a sign saying that it's forbidden to enter at night.

"We're seriously doing this?" Scott asks, climbing out the back seat.
