Song of The Chapter: Ever Enough - A Rocket To The Moon
Third Person POV
"Mmm." Noah Stilinski hums, sitting with his son in the police car and eating fast food. "Did they forget my curly fries?" He was on night duty, and this was often the only way he got to spend time with his son, Stiles.
"You're not supposed to eat fries, especially the curly ones." Stiles tells his father.
"Well, I'm carrying a lethal weapon. If I want the curly fries, I will have the curly fries," Stilinski threatens.
"If you think getting rid of contractions in all your sentences makes your argument any more legitimate, you. are. wrong." Stiles pauses between each word, getting his point across.
"Yeah, yeah," his father groans. "So, what's the latest with Eden?"
"What?" Stiles chokes on his drink. "What do you mean?"
"Any connection?" His father pushes, being able to read his son like an open book half the time.
"Dad, we're just friends. I don't know what you're trying to get at." In an attempts to change the subject, Stiles says something he hates to hear when it comes to the chocolate haired female, 'just friends.'
"Look kid, I might be a man, but this man is your father. I know that you have a crush on Eden and I know for a fact because Scott was talking about it with me the other day."
"What? He just openly told you that I have a crush on her?" Stiles sits forward in the passenger seat, looking at his dad who takes a bite of his food.
"No he didn't, but you just did." Stilinski smirked, proud of himself for tricking his son. Stiles sits back in his chair again, groaning. "Just take a chance."
"And have our friendship ruined?" He crosses his arms. "No thank you."
"She might like you back."
"No," he sighs, chewing on his straw. "She's too perfect for that."
"Nobody is perfect-" sheriff Stilinski paused when a voice came through the radio.
"Unit one, do you copy?" Stiles reaches forward to grab the radio, but Stilinski slaps his hand away and lifts it to his own mouth. He mumbles a quiet 'sorry.' Zoning out, he digs into the curly fries thinking of his brown eyed friend.
"Unit one, copy."
"Got a report of a possible one-eight-seven."
"A murder!" Stiles' attention gets drawn immediately.
-
Sheriff Stilinski pulls up to the video shop. Flashing lights from the ambulance light up the night sky. "Stay here," he warns his son before getting out the car. "Paul, let's get this area locked up." The police radio chatters away as Stiles' eyes land on the 'ignorant couple,' as Eden would call them that he knows from school.
