"Hey kids! Do you want to hear the story of Cinderella?" my teacher asked while showing her genuine smile.
"No thanks ma'am! I'm not interested! I already read it a thousand times I also watched the movie!" Nick said, with a smirk on his face.
"But this time it's different! A more thrilling one than usual" our teacher exclaimed with excitement.
My classmate wondered "How is that possible? As far as I know the story is a typical cliché, just another love story with a happy ending."
My teacher sat on the table and crossed her legs. She took a breath before starting.
"In a far away land, there was once a beautiful lady named Cinderella. She was born with a character; kind, sweet and caring to her family. However, despite having perfect quality she was unlucky with one thing “Family “.
She was abused by her stepmother and stepsisters and treated her like a servant."As the teacher was narrating, the only thing that’s on my mind right now is “Its kinda boring, They're so focused! like, come on guys! Do you guys really like romance? It’s very cringe." Even so I just endured it and listen as I don’t want to cut off my teacher who is narrating.
"One day, a letter from the Kingdom arrived, It was said that either royalty, nobles, or even peasants are invited to join the grand ball. Cinderella's stepsisters are so excited that time that they are also wishing to marry the prince. Cinderella also want to attend but sadly her cruel stepmother didn't allow her. Cinderella went to the terrace and cried. While she was crying emotionally a fairy godmother appear near her. Cinderella was shocked as she saw the fairy godmother. The fairy godmother helped her to attend the ball. The fairy godmother turned the pumpkin into a beautiful carriage, turned Cinderella's dress into a beautiful sparkling blue dress and a glass slipper." my teacher said as she continued narrating.
"Cinderella attended the ball and she had a dance with a prince. They dance gracefully, not until the clock strikes 12. Cinderella ran as she could to get home at the exact time, her glass slipper even fall but she don't have time to picked it because the prince chased him. As Cinderella leaved the ball the beautiful pumpkin carriage turned into a real pumpkin and also the gown of Cinderella. All are backed to normal but except for the glass slipper."
I rolled my eyes and pout.
"Its boring!!!" i whisper.
"One morning, the prince announced that who ever fits the glass slipper will be her wife. So all girls tried on the shoe but they all failed...." my teacher stop narrating as she called one of my classmate.
"What do you think will happen next?" she asked.
"Cinderella's stepsisters will try on the glass slipper but they failed also, so Cinderella tried it on and it was perfectly fit. And that was the time where the prince marry Cinderella and they lived happily ever after." she said. I took a glance on our teacher but she only smile bitterly.
"Hmmm okay...let's continue!" she said and continue narrating.
"When Cinderella's stepsisters try to pretend they're the owners of Cinderella's missing slipper they dismember their feet to make the shoe fit. One of the sisters chops off her big toe, and the other removed a piece of her heel. In both cases, the prince only notices that something is wrong when a bunch of rhyme talking birds pointed out to him that his bride's shoe is filling up with blood."
"Ewws so gross! Yuck!" my classmates said and act like their vomiting.
Our teacher chuckled and continue.
"When the prince knew already that Cinderella is the one he finds. They get married. The sisters show up at Cinderella's wedding and walk her down the aisle in a shameless last minute attempt to curry her favor at which point the talking birds, who have had just about enough of this social climbing nonsense, fly down and peck their eyes out. And that is the end of untold story!" she said and tap her lap.
"Whoa ma'am that was quite creepy!" Nick said.
The school bell rings. And all my classmates are packing up their things to go home. They even talk about the story.
I was about to go outside when I heard my classmate whispered.
"Why didn't you tell them mom that you're the Cinderella in the story?" she whispered and release a heavy sighed.
My eyes widened. It gives me goosebumps.
