As soon as I arrived, I immediately pulled over to the side of the road and unbuckled my seatbelt. Striding confidently, I walked into the company's entrance, putting on my shades to shield my eyes from the glaring sun.
Kira was already waiting by the door, looking anxious as if she was in a rush. As soon as she saw me, she let out a sigh of relief.
The security guard welcomed me with, "Good morning, ma'am." I, on the other hand, did not. I kept walking, my heels clicking on the tiles as Kira followed closely behind me.
Suddenly, my eyes caught sight of the auditionees, each clutching their folders nervously. Some were sitting on the floor, others were murmuring to themselves, probably rehearsing their lines.
Oh, right. Well, I wasn't at fault for being so exhausted and mistakenly putting PM instead of AM in my alarm.
"M-Magandang umaga po, ma'am. Mabuti't nandidito na po kayo't sobrang dami na pong naghihintay—"
"Where's the scissor?" I interrupted Kira, glancing back at her, but she was lost in staring at my face.
Raising an eyebrow, I tried to get her attention. "Hello?"
Startled, she finally snapped out of it. I rolled my eyes.
"S-Sorry, ma'am," she babbled while finding the scissor inside her bag. "Hindi lang po nakatulog nang maayos," she added, now handing it to me.
I faked a half-curved smile. "You've been doing this for a year, Kira, and you still can't do your work properly," I hinted, not bothering to hide my frustration.
Shaking, she slightly bowed her head, and I knew she was about to apologize - lagi na lang. I immediately left in front of her and went to the ribbon coated with color red, blocking the way.
I sighed and stared at the ten auditionees. They stalled what they were doing and moved in front of me. They looked decent enough, but I hoped at least five of them would qualify for the position.
Removing my shades, I greeted them, "Welcome to 3A's, Asia's aspiring authors." Their faces lit up with smiles.
"I know you've all heard the meaning of 3A's before, but I'll say it again. Ardent, Aplomb, and Audacious. I want to see each and every one of you exhibit these characteristics. If you already know that you lack these qualities, you may leave the company now. I don't need you."
I waited seconds if someone would go out, but ended up there was no one. "All right, then. Let's get started," I said as I looked at them individually, and the girl at the end of the line caught my eye. "And let me begin with you," I said, drawing a startled look from her.
Without waiting for her response, I put my shades back on.
But just as I was about to walk away, I heard a loud commotion from behind.
"Mag-a-audition nga po ako, kuya! Bakit ayaw niyo 'kong papasukin?!"
"Bawal nga po, sir! Ipinagbabawal po ni madam ang mga ganiyang kasuutan!"
I turned around. My eyes caught sight at his torn clothes immediately. Taong grasa ba 'to?
I tsked. They were making a freaking scene. While my arms were crossed, I was just watching her talk calmly to the guard while caressing the man's back.
