My brother and I go though our day of classes, then lunch and grab an apple for later. The day is a breeze apart from a text from Dean I choice to ignore.
Before we know it. It was the end of the day and time to head home. I drop my brother off at home and decided to visit the graveyard. As strange as it may seem it's a place I feel at peace most.
On my way, I go to the store and buy flowers. Then drive up to the graveyard and park. I walk my way though the graves and find the one I want. I sit down and face my mother's grave/statute. I take out the old flowers and put white roses in their place.
"There you go mom,"
"How are you today?"
"Mine was...interesting. But you probably already know that."
"What should I do about that deal?"
"Why did I agree?"
"Why didn't I kill him?"
"It would have been easy"
"Mom what would you do?"
"Should I agree with it for now?"
"The deal isn't that terrible. It mostly benefits you," a voice says behind me.
Pull my knife out in reflex and turn to see Dean. I roll my eyes.
"Ugh, I'm the serial killer but your the one stalking me!"
"Well you own this graveyard and you seem like someone who would enjoy hanging out in a grave,"
"Whatever. What do you want now?"
"Oh so snappy. Me likely." He winks
I snore "gross, go away,"
"Can you say the magic word"
"Fucking go away"
"Mmhm no. Try again"
I run at him and cut the skin below his collar bone lightly then put it under his neck.
"I said leave me alone!"
His eyes flutter "mmm yes you did,"
I study his face "So you really do like that, huh?"
He looks in my eyes and smirks "That I do,"
I pull the knife away again and step away and go back my mom's grave and sit.
"Please go away, Dean"
I hear a light gasp from him then he clears his throat and sighs. I hear his foot steps till he is standing behind me.
He is silent for a minute "Emily?"
I groan "What?"
I hear sadness in his voice "Is that your mom?"
I look at my hands "Yes"
"I'm sorry"
I turn my head "why?"
He stands there awkward then decides to sit next to me.
"Because I know what it's like to not have a mom too."
Because the town was small most people know everyone's business. Other then my family. So everyone know the mighty Dean Morris's mother death during child birth. Just not all the details.
I look at him and really try and understand how he feels. We were in the same boat. Just he's mom didn't have a choice and mine did.
I decide to put my hand on his, then pull away. He then hovers his hand over mine then lightly sets it on mine and we look at each other, for what feels like the first time. My heart starts to try and stab it's way out of my ribs, and I start sweating.
